J Bree knows how to write a strong FMC!

Once I started this book I was not able to put it down... Well I was able but I didn't want to!

J Bree has once again managed to snag our attention with a gutsy FMC. She has had a poor run of it, and yet it hasn't jaded her. She still wants to help the little people (and her befriending Sage is just about the best part!) and never belittles anyone unless they 100% deserve **cough cough ZOEY cough cough**.

While there are some iredeemable qualities in the bonds that Oli has (i.e. Nox being a general grumpy bugger and North being a controlling narcissist), I feel like there are some that are already making the necessary changes to help Oli grow and choose to stay (i.e. Atlas being the sweetest man ever, but also the way Gryphon opened up to Oli).

I cannot wait to see where this series goes... September cannot come fast enough. Also - why was I not aware until AFTER I read Book 1 that this is a 6 BOOK SERIES! This is going to be a long ride, but I'm all for it!

I wasn't sure what to expect when I read the blurb for this book, but I know J Bree is a fantastic author after reading the Hannaford Prep series and all its connected books so I was pretty keen to read it.

Broken Bonds was a great start for this series. Oleander is despised, she abandoned her so important fated bonds 5 years earlier, and has now been captured and placed under their control. As far as bullies go, they are pretty bad, with the worst being Nox.

I couldn't stop reading this book and was very keen to get answers. While we do get some answers at the end of this book, its only a taste with a promise for more. I'm very keen to see what happens next and how her relationship with her bonds will change and develop with the revelations provided at the end of the book.

Wow, talk about hook line and sinker!

This was great, a bit of x men meets hunger games but on a level on its own. I love this. The characters were great, I love the mystery, the suspense and the tension between the characters.

All the characters were great and brought their own individuality that gave something unique to the story. I loved the tension and chemistry between them all and I enjoyed watching Oli show them who was boss. I mean the girl is Queen. Period. I can’t wait to dive more into the background story and how this situation came about. We touch base on a little of it in this book but I can’t wait to see more.

Amazing plot that captivated and enthralled me from the beginning. Easy to follow and intriguing it kept me engaged till the very end. Love it.

The Bonds themselves have their own feelings about Oli and most of them are not positive.

But Oli has her own secrets, her own reasons for leaving and none are what she is being accused of. She did it to save them all, but will it be too late when they find out.

J Bree has done it again. I absolutely loved this, I cannot wait for the next instalment in Oli’s story.

This book has really captured my attention.

I am loving this modern world filled with gifted humans but more than that, I am very intrigued by the air of mysteriousness surrounding Oli and her powers, the Resistance, why her parents were killed etc... All of it has been written very well.

There are a few grammatical errors that made me stumble over some words but nothing too serious.

The characters, from main to support are awesome. I am liking all of them in their own ways. Sage is the quirky get supportive best friend. Sawyer is the geeky yet hot gay best friend and the guys have all their own elements as well. Atlas has definitely taken the pie in this book with his sweetness and also his hot possessiveness.

I definitely recommend this series by the gorgeous J. Bree!

There's just something about J Bree's writing that draws you in and consumes you. I downloaded this book at midnight the night it came out. I was only going to glance at the pages to see what to expect.

4 hours later and I was on the last page, my mind was reeling, I was exhausted, and yet if book two had of already been released I would have stayed up and read that also even knowing at 6am my little cherubs would awake and wreak havoc on my soul.

Oli is everything I've ever wanted in an FMC. And her bonds, some have grown on me and I'm looking forward to watching the rest of them grovel.

Fascinating, original, and completely worth devouring. Make sure you hydrate before you begin reading because you won't remember the world exists until you've finished the entire book.

I wasnt sure what to expect from this, and it kinda kills me that there's 5 more books and this one only just came out! But omg it was good. I felt for a while there that the hatred was dragging a little, but by the end I'm happy that things are progressing a little relationship-wise. Love Atlas and Gryphon. Sage is a total sweetheart and I'm definitely shipping her with Felix. Sawyer is awesome too! Can't wait for book 2!!

Broken Bonds was a great start for the series. Oleander is utterly despised, she did the unheard of and ran away from her fated bond mates 5 years prior, and has now been captured and placed under their control with a gps tracker implanted under her skin for good measure. Her bond mates, however are all powerful, important and bullies. And as far as bullies go, they are pretty awful, Nox being the worst of a bad lot.

Having said that, there are some redeeming qualities that begin to show towards the end of the book. So, it’ll be interesting to continue with the series and uncover more of Oleanders story and learn more about the fascinating world J. Bree has created.

I feel like I know absolutely nothing. At all. And honestly, the wait till September is going to kill me, because I need to know. I need to know something. Anything.

It’s clever is this book. Gives you just enough to get you hooked and make sure you gotta keep coming back for more.

J Bree is a 1 click author from me. Literally could be a book of shopping lists and I’d probably be the first to buy it in all formats. That’s just how amazing I find her work. We’re diving into her PNR side with Broken Bonds and I am super excited to see where she takes Oli and the guys.

Would I have loved more of a backstory? Yea, definitely. I have so many questions. But that’s why it’s so clever, just drip feeds you enough so that when the end sneaks up on you, you don’t realise. Then you are fuming, and THEN you realise you have to wait to find out anything.

All in all, I love Oli and most of the guys (Jury is still out on a couple). Gryphon is my favourite. I need more of everything and I cannot wait till we dive deeper into their world 🖤

A fantastic paranormal world where there are The Gifted, These are people gifted with different powers, shifters, healers, fire magic and the like. These gifted also have bonds, characters are fated to love each other for eternity but this bond is broken.
Oli has 5 bonds with her at the centre. When all of those are bonded their power increases but so does the relationship.
Although this series isn’t full of steam the storyline more than makes up for it and I have no doubt that the following books will add some heat. Oli is sarcastic and strong. She’s put others before herself for so long that people see her behaviour as selfish. I can’t wait to see what’s going to happen in book 2 after the revelations at the end of this one.

I love that I can’t compare this with 10 different PNR series. Each of the guys are so different and I can’t wait to see where the character development takes us. Right now I think Gabe and Atlas are my favourites, there’s something about Gryphon that I’m totally intrigued with and those Draven brothers?! Nox and North have me totally confused. Should I like them, no. So why do I need more from them?
An outstanding start to what looks to be a brilliant PNR RH.

I can't go into what This book is all about, it would make no sense, all I will say is it is set our world but focuses on a Paranormal section of society and people with 'gifts'. We come across Flame throwers, shields and shifters among others. People are 'bonded' into groups which is something like a fated love situation.

Our heroine Oli has run away from her bonds for reasons we are learning... The story starts after she has been captured and returned to her bonds. Her bonds think she deserted them, so things don't go smoothly.

This is the beauty of J Bree -

She's a world builder like no other author I have come across... She must be slightly twisted but then I must be too because I am here for it all.

I am basically a middle aged housewife and shouldn't really be into High School/ bully/ RH books and usually i'm not, but I am obsessed with everything this author writes and Broken Bonds is no different..... I am currently screaming 'I need more' at my kindle because this book ended far too soon!

I know the work that goes into books and I would never hound an author to write a sequel quickly, but Ms Bree.... HURRY UP WITH BOOK 2!!! 😂 PLEEEAAASE!!!!!!

Oleander has been on the run for the last five years since a car accident killed her entire family. The Resistance are after her and she can’t afford to be caught again.

But running from everything also meant running from her Bonds. The five men destined to love her. She’s never met them but the tests have never been wrong before.

Eventually she is tracked down by the TacTeam and taken to meet the men she ran from. The men that now hate her for her abandonment. The men that believe she ran for selfish reasons and don’t think to question otherwise.

They’re all meant to complete their bonds - sexually - and then each of their gifts will grow and enhance. Oli’s gift is too dark, too dangerous already and so she refuses to bond with any of them for fear of growing her own gift.

This has huge potential as a reverse harem! Oli has incredible control over her bond - and her gift - that she manages to fight it no matter how much it tugs on her any time she’s around any of the guys.

She’s so scared of being the monster she believes she can be that she tamps down her gift as much as possible, and lets everyone believe that she is, in fact, ungifted.

The book flew by as I was so engrossed in the story. This series will definitely be a binge read because I just have to know what happens next!

There were a few small grammatical errors that could’ve been avoided with more thorough editing, but the writing is so immersive that it didn’t take away from the experience for me like it normally would.

The character building, tension & plot has you turning the pages quicker than i can read.
I am beyond superexcited for this series!!
