Product description

Review

This little treasure book is filled with practical advice that must be digested and incorporated into your current financial situation. The big difference here is that Heidi keeps it light though serious and makes statements such as 'It is better to save less over a longer period, than to save more for a short period and then give up. Make sure you are saving at a sustainable level.' Read and study and incorporate Heidi's concepts and watch your financial picture alter - for the better. This book is a wise investment. Grady Harp I've been budgeting for years, but the same thing always happens - I do my budget, I'm all keen and excited, then a few months later I've run out of steam and I stop tracking my spending, start 'tapping-and-going' again and it all goes out the window. How refreshing to learn that you can do budgets so differently! There is a budget in this book to suit everyone, and some of them don't even require expenses to be tracked. I loved the idea of the 'Bootcamp' budget and the 'Spend and Save' budget but for me, the 'Bucket List' budget is the one I'm going to try. This is a great book full of really practical, helpful how-to guides and advice. Well worth a look. Lauren Martin After reading Budget: $mall Changes Big Reward$ by Heidi Farrelly I now realise after 30 years of managing my own money that I've been using the wrong budget! I love how the author explains and discusses the different types of budgets in an easy to read, and often amusing way - she makes reading about finances interesting and fun. Using the right budget will save thousands and thousands of dollars for the person willing to try their hand at the one that works the best for them. L Fleetwood Here's the problem with most budgeting books and books on finance. They tell you why it matters. I don't care about that. I already know why I care, and why I'm stressed out and anxious about my money. What I need to know is HOW to fix my problems and make sure they don't occur in the future. So for that alone, thanks Heidi! You sure drop some knowledge and tell readers exactly how to do their budgeting, and even with non-traditional and creative and innovative ways. After all, that's all we are looking for with this book, isn't it? And it delivers, big time. --This text refers to the paperback edition.

As the author says 'I always wrote the budget that I wanted, rather than the one then worked'. Is this you? It was me. This book is for people who want to budget but don't know where to start, who suck at budgets but maybe just need to find the right one for them - this is a must read for those wanting to get ahead, break their bad spending habits, and to actually work out where all their money is going. Also great for young adults and college students wanting to start their financial life ahead of the game. After reading it prompted many discussions with my older teenage children about budgeting - never too late to start thinking about your finances and start having more money for the things you love to do!
