Product Description

Commander Terex has had a terrible life. First he lost his mate, then he was taken over by an evil demon, then attacked and mutilated by the Dark Kindred, Two--enemy of his kind. He feels broken and the only thing that can make him whole again is vengeance--or so he thinks.

Elaina Thornton has a secret grief--a sister who is terminally ill with no hope of recovery. She too, feels broken inside--unable to do anything but grieve.

But then a prophesy is spoken--Elaina's healing and Terex's vengeance lie in the same direction, in the mysterious Dark Sector. Ships that fly into this part of the universe never return and yet this is where they must go.

Despite Elaina's fear, she is willing to risk anything to save her sister. Terex just wants revenge. Neither of them is looking for love but sometimes the Goddess has plans of her own. What awaits them in the Dark Sector--love or death? You'll have to read Uncharted to find out!

I was so excited for this book and now I've read it I can't wait for 19 Unbound. Thank you Evangeline for being such a brilliant author. Terex really needed his turn and it was fantastic. You capture my imagination strongly and the different characters, 'mature' made the story even more appealing. Don't stop writing 😉

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
This series keeps getting better and better. This would have to be one of my favourite stories to date. I was a little apprehensive on reading about an older couple, thinking I may not be able to relate, but I was wrong. I found Terex and Elaine to be very relatable and refreshing with their communication of the situation at hand. Yes there is BDSM in this book, but I felt it to be quite tame and really not that bad. It is on par to many of her other books featuring this theme. Though Elaine was playing the submissive she was not afraid to voice her opinions when it mattered. Terex came across as a crusty soldier bent on revenge only to be saved by Elaine. I honestly do not think I can say too much in a review without giving the story away. Evangeline's series keeps getting better and I look forward to the next installment in the series when released. If you enjoy alien romance with a bit of BDSM thrown in, then you will enjoy this book.

It has been a long time coming but finally commander Terex gets a break from his bad luck, or does he!
In his story Terex must overcome more heartache and obstacles as well as fight alongside a lost brother to save not only Elaina but a planet to get his HEA.
Elaina was interesting in that she was submissive but stood her ground when it mattered. She helped Terex in many ways and though she was wary of his hot and cold attitude at first her feelings grew stronger for him.
There is so much going on in this story a review will not do it justice without giving every thing away, you need to read it to understand.

This is my honest review of this book

I think that most of Anderson's fans will love this book. Unfortunately I'm not one of them! The story could have been better and i have to say that I got fed up with Terex's angst and inability to follow the priestess's instructions.
Then of course there was the whole BDSM thing.
I wish authors would warn us about this! It's really not my scene and I felt cheated because I just skip through.
If this is the way that the series is trending I don't think that I'll bother in the future.

4.0 out of 5 stars Uncharted 13 February 2017

Another great addition to the Kindred series! One thing that I especially liked seeing in this book is that both characters are a little older. Not the usual 20's to early 30's age group that you mostly see these days. Terex and Elaina both share a deep attraction to each other but Elaina tries to bury it because she is desperate to find a cure for her terminal sister. Terex's mate has been dead for over ten years but because of their "forbidden desires" combined with his actions while possessed by a demon he feels that he doesn't deserve another mate. As a matter of fact he plans on hunting down the remaining Dark Kindred and destroying him to atone for his actions. He is hoping that by doing that he will die in battle with honor and the Goddesses forgiveness.

The Priestess calls both Terex and Elaina and tells them that they both must travel across the galaxy to find both the Dark Kindred and a cure for Elaina's sister. Neither is thrilled with the news that they must travel together to succeed. Elaina is willing to do whatever it takes to help her sister but she's worried about leaving her for so long and Terex was hoping that this would be a one way trip.

The planet that they are sent to is based on a completely misogynist rule. Women are basically slaves and treated like brainless sex dolls. I really, REALLY wanted to see Elaina or one of his slaves punch the Emperor in the mouth! Because of the screwed up laws Terex and Elaina were forced to play the Master/Slave roll while they searched for the two items the Priestess told them they needed. Terex and Elaina are put into several compromising positions that make it impossible to ignore their attraction to each other. I won't do a whole detailed break down on everything else that happens other than there is going to be some light BDSM, a terminal illness, a poisoning and an evil political plot exposed.

Despite the teeth grinding irritation at how women are treated I still really enjoyed the story. There was plenty of action, angst and smexiness to keep me engaged through the entire book and I can't wait to see what happens with this new group of bad guys coming for the Kindred!

4.0 out of 5 stars A quick enjoyable read, that I've seen before. 30 January 2017

This is a combination if Found and every book that dealt with that pleasure planet but on the opposite end ofthe spectrum. The lesson here obviously is slavery=bad, willing submission= hot sexy.

I felt like with my regular dose of smutty sci-fi romance I got some political satire this time. That or I may be reaching. Our villian in this one, the active one,not the onelirking in the background, has some disturbingly familiar leanings that remind me personally of a certain newly minted "leader." Even his name is similar and for the life of me believe that was an accident. So this becomes a kind if wish fulfillment for portions of the story. It was satisfactory how the villian met his end.

Now here is why I took away a star when it was obviously a good story. This story is heavily reliant on repetitive dialogue. I thought, several times that I was reading the same page twice; I was not, but I missed the very subtle differences. I also found the book despite its sameness, too quick a read. The file says over 450 pages, which took a while to write, why did this book take me a morning to read? Like about three hours, two cups of tea, a too sweet scone and a potty break, then I was done. That is either a compliment to the author (unwittingly) or an indication that I need to add speed reading to my résumé.

This is obviously a really good book. I think I would continue to read the Kindred Series. I've read the other 17, I'm surely committed by now. Imean who doesn't like a hero that will protect you no matter what right? But can we not make every heroine a numala? Like really every single one of them (the heroines) is like some great leaky honey fountain. And then the actual Kindred females are walking around with an Arctic desert between her thighs. That's just mean. Whatevs I'll still read the next one.

5.0 out of 5 stars I knew he needed to find love and happiness at some point 29 January 2017

From the moment we met Terex, I knew he needed to find love and happiness at some point. I'm glad we didn't have to wait for very long. And his answer is with Elaina. They've already met before in Switched, but since then, she has returned to earth to attend to her sister's family and he has gone through some harrowing experiences of his own. Neither of them expected the goddess to call them together on this trip, and neither of them expected things to become as complicated as they did. And by the time they are sent on their mission, Elaina has decided she is only interested in a cure for her sister's cancer, and Terex has decided that he simply wants to destroy Two once and for all and end the nightmare that is his life. No two people could have been more wrong about the turn their lives would take.

In true Evangeline Anderson tradition, this book was sexy and entertaining. We see the existence of new and frightening species along with some old ones who have taken a road no one expected. Elaina and Terex went through some rough patches and it was a difficult trip, but in the end, they find healing in each other with the help of the goddess. It was fun and scary, made me angry and made me laugh. There were moments when wondered if things were going to work out and I questioned what the goddess could possibly have in mind this time. But in the end, I was happy for the love this couple found in each other and looking forward to seeing how the Kindred and humans will handle the frightening forces still to come.

NO, NO, NO......SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!
This was sick. The rape, demeaning, degrading, and abuse of the females is so wrong. The villain made a virus (the NEED)that only infects females and makes them crave sex and abuse is a no, AND he had the cure. He used it on himself because it rejuvenated him. The whole male lot on this planet should be shot. NO ONE defends the females. They are expect to just take it and obey all males because "females have no intelligence. BS!!!!! They are not allowed to talk in public or an opinion. The story made me physically sick with so much abuse of which none of it is consensual (RAPE). The poor women are sold to their " masters" by their fathers and NO ONE in over 100 years has stood up for any of the females. They are slaves. They are not consenting adults. They were required to show their lady bits when in public. Seriously, this story had me mad, and I mean spitting mad. The male MC was able to free and cure females, but it comes almost at the end of story.

I have been challenging Ms E to gives an emotionally mature heroine who didn't squeal and simper. I was tired of the promotion of physical abuse being idealized as good sex. Ms E gives a mature heroine that teams up w/ her partner in adventure Terex. They work together w/o the drama and whinny, childish insecurity of recent heroines. I swear she worked on all the points I made about recent books. Not only did she do it but she did a great job. She did include BDSM but showed it in a positive light of partners communicating and electing to do this alternative sexual style. I am so proud of this work!
