So here we are given more into the story of Brett and Evie. We take off a few years after the ending of the first book. You see these 2 living, in their eyes, the perfect life with the perfect family with their 3 kids. That is until the one person from Brett's past comes back with a vengeance.
Steamy, erotic scenes are only part of what this story entails. Hurt, anger and betrayals are pushed to the fore front. With the extra unexpected ending. If I was to be picky, my only gripe would be the more than needed, pages and pages of BDSM scenes, but that is just my opinion. I did enjoy reading this story and was thrilled to receive the bonus at the end.

Well flipping heck what did I just read?
Brett & Evvie are back and happily married with 3 children, great friends and family and completely settled....but no our J M Walker was not happy with this arrangement she had to drop the biggest bomb ever in the middle of their lives and well hell im still traumatised.
I was engrossed and scared from the off, it was thrilling and did I mention I was scared!!!
From the first few pages I couldn’t put the book down...the writing wonderful and crisp...the story engaging... it was like I was with old friends albeit old friends that at times I wanted to strangle!
You need to have read the Torn Trilogy before reading this because the backstory is definitely a requirement to feel the full force of impact of this story, it’s a carefully woven tale that had some fun times, definitely some sexy times covered with a whole heap of heartache.
Then you get to the ending and wow... there went my breath again.....
Thank you J M for another fabulous book and despite my tears I loved having Brett & Evvie back in my life once again.

Oh my God, what an emotional read that was, praying for their relationship all the way, hoping that they would make it, great to hear the kids grown and Evan and Anna appearing, can't say much about the ending (dont want to ruin it) but there will be tears!!😭😭

Best read ever
But only if read the whole box set of whole set. You will not regret to read about Evvie and Brett. I’ve found the music to discribe this book

Though this is a continuation of the Torn Trilogy, it can be read as a standalone. Let me just start by saying that I'd not yet had the pleasure of meeting Brett MacLean, though I have heard great things about him. The first part of the duet is a story set in the future where the happy couple, Brett and Evvie, are somewhat settled and have three children.
Something occurs however to rock the boat. A person from their past is here to stir up issues, and does it ever. I found the reactions of the characters raw, emotional, and real.
And that epilogue? Likely will be one of the best I have ever read.
The second part of the duet is from the first book of the Torn Trilogy, from Brett's POV. This gave me insight into what this couple went through and how they got to where they are. To say I'm intrigued would put it mildly. I'll likely be packing up the trilogy during a long weekend at the cottage and escape into the world of Brett and Evvie.

Great read! This book reads effortlessly, the writing so beautiful. I enjoyed the complex story line: turbulent romance with BDSM, full of angst and drama. So many emotions and yes I did shed some tears too. Will not be the book I read from Walker.
