In my opinion, this is a book that enriches the reader with every chapter. After reading 'Communion' a few years ago I was both thrilled and alarmed by the presence of 'The Visitors'. In 'Breakthrough' Whitley Strieber has managed to persevere with explanations and visions which reveal his massive talent as a writer.
'Breakthrough' is a much more solid and deeply fascinating book than 'Communion'. Whitley manages to introduce a deeper understanding into his revelations by bringing into the experience other witnesses - friends who manage to also see and experience 'The Visitors'. He also reveals that he has developed as a writer and so, this book became even more incredible to me.
I did not get the impression that this is a work of fiction but is actually based on real events and very real, though unusual experiences. It is massively interesting and very poetic in parts but overwhelmingly honest and never really that confusing, which 'Communion' could be in parts because the subject matter was so shocking at first.
If you are looking for a fascinating reading experience then 'Breakthrough' manages to be both enlightening and also quite shocking in parts but essentially it is one of the best books you could read on the appearance of entities appearing that merely want to communicate with this particular writer. Recommended.
