I'm usually not into rock band romances but Anne Berkeley has done such a good job with her books that I think she may have changed my mind. I loved this story.
Shane is the drummer for Hautboys band and Em is best friends with Cooper who is the wife of Tate the lead singer for Hautboys. Shane is addicted to drugs and alcohol and Em is coming out of an abusive marriage. Her husband was also an addict and alcoholic. Shane is immediately taken with Em and pursues her. This is their story.
This book is how these two people meet their demons. There is darkness and violence, humor and sex, hate and love. I cried and laughed rejoicing in the characters triumphs. Nice job Anne.
5.0 out of 5 starsAnother winner. Just as with the first book, but this one wasn't so funny.

But had the depth behind the issues. It is so sad what parents can do to their innocent children, when they are abusers. But unfortunately the parents probably came from abusers, and don't care to correct their ways. But fortunately in this family their learn from love ❤️.
I somehow failed to realize this was book 2 in the series until I was into the story. This one was so great that I have to back up and read the first one! Out of a brutal marriage, Emelia, finds herself in the middle of a rock band's problems, too. Meeting Shane, the drummer, only adds to her angst. Give it a try! It's worth it.
