***Can be read as a standalone or as part of the Rock Falls series

Beth Rhodes has always had a game plan. Go to college. Get the perfect job. Get the perfect guy. Get the happily ever after she's always wanted. It is just her luck that everything falls into its precise place in her life. At least it seems that way until her blueprints go up in smoke. She loses the job she loves and her prince charming is turning out to be the villain of her fairytale instead. With failures and mistakes piling up on her doorstep, she knows something has to give—or she could very well end up paying for those mistakes with her life.

Braxton Bennett is lethal, both in the courtroom and in the ring. Two sides of him constantly wage war against one another, and to keep the internal bloodshed at bay, he allows himself to indulge in his violent vice. Suit by day and brawler by night aren’t easy dual lives to manage for a man of his status. The only way to do so is by following a strict set of rules—rules he won’t break for anyone. But what if he already has?

On a summer night in the depths of the city, a chance encounter will turn both of their perfectly constructed worlds upside down.

Will they battle together against all odds to break Bennett’s rules? Or will Rhodes tap out to save herself before the fight is over?

Okay, I loved the underground fight club, I loved that Cinderella man saved the girl who was being assaulted in the alley by her boyfriend, I loved the predictable coincidence that followed.

I disliked the insta-love (declaring he wants to put a baby in her after a week!? moving in after three weeks?!?!) I didn't like the way he sometimes got rough with her when she was an abuse victim. I found it weird that he had anger issues, would constantly break and smash things, and yet she never felt scared in his presence. I really didn't like how possessive he was... actually, I really don't like how any of the men in this series is possessive. A little can be a turn on, but threatening to beat up every male friend their gf has? It's overkill and waaaaay OTT. I didn't like that his issues magically disappeared, all because he was with her. No. Doesn't happen like that.

This may have been my favourite had Braxton not sounded exactly like Greyson. I felt like I had read a lot of the romance stuff in both preceding books. While this storyline was different, nearly all the characters have the exact same voice. New couple each book, same main characters.

Okay, whining out of the way, I still really enjoyed it. I loved that it had a bit of suspense thrown in there as well in this one - A real villain to hate and wish bad things upon.

I am enjoying this series, but don't know if I can go another one. I fear it will be reading the same thing again. Strong alpha male. Girl who wants to be tough but caves as soon as he touches her.

Hands down this was the best book in the series. I loved the story line and who wouldn't want Brax as their Cinderella Man. This book had it all, suspense, love, hot steamy bossy alpha male, laughs and tears.

5.0 out of 5 stars If only there were really Bennetts in the legal profession... le sigh. 12 December 2015

So I think this is going to be my favorite book of the series. I just loved loved loved the hero in this book, Braxton Bennett. Braxton is many things. Dark. Edgy. Damaged. Tattooed. Rich. Alpha. Male. Attorney. One of these things is not like the other. Can you tell which? Yep, its that Attorney label. Let me tell you, I have been an attorney for a while now and I worked in the legal field for 8 years before I became a lawyer. I have never - NEVER - ever met an attorney like this. Seriously, it was my lament of law school. There were no good looking law students; most of the guys were weenie whiney manboys. And all the law firms I have encountered are divided into the older partners, or the absolutely average looking. So Braxton Bennet is my ultimate fantasy... if I could only find a real one. Le sigh.

I was so absorbed in Braxton that I can't even remember the heroine's name. Oh yeah, it's Beth (I had to look it up). Beth is Hannah's older sister and at the end of Choosing Henley, we discovered she was dating a major douche canoe. The douche has turned dangerous in this book, which results in her being rescued by the Cinderella Man. I liked Beth as much as you can like a girl who has something that you want. But that's about all that I have to say about her.

This book is one of insta-love... but I think that was necessary to work within the confines of the length because there was a plot conflict along with the romance, and that had to be developed and explored as well. I like that we got some suspense and bad guys in this book, it gave us something fresh and different from the earlier books in the series. I continue to love all of the secondary characters... but I am a sucker for that tattooed bad boy type so I would be right at home in this group of friends and family. (If I ever find out Anne based these guys on real people, I am moving to Canada.) 5 stars / 4 flames

3.0 out of 5 stars Breaking Bennett 30 November 2014

Again this was a threat story. I loved Beth and Braxton. They both have so many admirable characteristics. The reason I could only give the book three stars was due to editing problems. I will still continue the series and have high hopes that the author will improve on the editing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beth + Brax = Perfect together 3 November 2014
By ANJasper - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
This series just keeps getting better and better. I was hooked from the first book in the series and with the teaser at the end of the second, I knew I was going to get quite the ride. Anne Jolin did not disappoint at all.

Breaking Bennett is Beth's story. Beth is finding her way back from some events that made her question who she was. Enter Brax, the mysterious man who helped her out on the worst night of her life. Things are tense but she is just the right amount of feisty and tender that he needs. And Brax has the protector without being possessive down. When Beth is threatened, all bets are off. Things get crazy for a bit and I didn't see that final twist coming at all. I was holding my breath all through those tense scenes.

This book had it all; enough suspense to keep me guessing, humor to break up the heaviness and a sweet romance that was worth the fight. I loved that I got glimpses of the other couples from the Rock Falls series that I fell in love with. There was plenty of Greyson, Hannah and Peyton. I absolutely can not wait to see the mind of Anne Jolin will come up with next.

3.0 out of 5 stars 3 Stars Means I Liked It... 20 December 2014
By S Black - Published on Amazon.com

I was given this ARC to read for a review. I was a little unsure because it is the third book in a series and I’m never sure if I should jump into the middle or not. I had no trouble reading Breaking Bennett as a stand alone in the Rock Falls series. There were the already happy couples that I had to assume were from the first two books in the series, but it didn’t take away from anything that happened in this book.

Breaking Bennett starts out with Beth and her current boyfriend, Kyle, talking in some underground fighting. Beth is a bit taken with a fighter, Cinderella Man. As the night ends, Cinderella Man end up protecting Beth from an abusive Kyle. The next time Beth meets Cinderella Man, he is her boss, Braxton Bennett. Apparently Bennett has anger issues and works them out through fighting, which is a secret to most that know him. His desire to keep his fighting private, their work relationship starts out a little on edge. As time goes on, their relationship begins to change and maybe they will end up being what the other one needs.
I will say, I am not a huge fan of total alpha males and Braxton seems to be at the top of the list. He was a little overdone in my taste, but I still had a bit of a soft spot for his character. Beth was a good fit for Braxton, she was able to help him with some of his issues.
I thought Jolin did a good job in the writing of Breaking Bennett. I liked the storyline and it had a good flow to it. It was a fairly easy read that I was able to finish in a couple evenings. This book was a little too insta-love, but I was still interested enough in the story that it didn’t stop me from finishing the book.
If you are already a fan of the Rock Falls Series, I would say you will probably enjoy Breaking Bennett. For me, it was an OK read, but I don’t feel it was wasted time. I would recommend this book to those that are already fans of the series and those looking for a good alpha male. I would give Breaking Bennett 3 stars for a good story.

5.0 out of 5 stars Real meets Beautiful Bastard 11 May 2015

I swear this series just keeps getting better and better. Breaking Bennett is definitely the best one yet and it's most definitely my favorite too!! The explosive relationship, the dominant possessive male with a just a touch of darkness made this book the perfect read for me. I just absolutely loved, loved, loved it!!!

If you want an idea about Breaking Bennett, it's like Real meets Beautiful Bastard. It is very much its own story, though, and not just those books put together in one book. I really enjoyed the whole fighter/lawyer dynamic and that's not all I enjoyed.

I mean, holy hand grenades, but this book is HOT!!!! It's actually not full of sex; it's the anticipation and passion that make it so hot. Not to mention, the way with words Brax has. They are totally sigh-and-shiver worthy.

Speaking of Brax, he is just the hottest Rock Falls man yet with his aura of uncivilizedness. He might be a smooth-suit-wearing lawyer, but that doesn't tame him at all. He's wild and does things his way, but you also know he would never hurt Beth. Brax doesn't beat around the bush when he tells her she's his and what their future looks like. He's my favorite hero in the series and you need to meet him!

Breaking Bennett is a fast read. It's filled with humor, danger, heat, and heart. I wouldn't wish for anything more or have anything changed. I just wholeheartedly loved it and I can't wait to read this story again. I'm so excited for the next book in the series too!!
