Product Description

Fighting his relentless love for Trevor, the guy he was raised to consider his brother, has been Tristan’s mission in life.

To distance himself from Trevor, even after discovering they weren’t really related, he left for college at sixteen. Moving into the city, building a new life, and running an anonymous blog about what he considers sick, twisted feelings might make Tristan famous on the Internet, but it isn’t enough to get over his obsession. Every time he goes home, a quick glance at Trevor brings it all flooding back.

When commitment-phobe Trevor announces he’s got a serious boyfriend during one of Tristan’s rare visits home, the adoring kid brother will be forced to run once again. This time, however, Trevor doesn’t stand back and watch him leave.

Instead, he follows him, making it nigh on impossible for Tristan to keep his love a secret for much longer.

The first thing that drew me to this story was how it was introduced to the readers. Through an anonymous blog and a publisher wanting to go public with it.

It is not clear however, whether the publisher knows that it is Tristan’s life story that he pens down to get away from the feels for his brother that has him feeling guilty and perverse. My heart went out to him even when we realised that no matter how hard he tries, and try hard he does, he cannot get out of this strange pull he has to his brother.
Trevor on the other hand turns out to be a really nice guy, albeit a little bit of a slag(is that a correct term for a man who sleeps around?... oh well!), totally against any type of commitment and makes it really difficlult for Tristan to let go of him, somehow nurturing the ever faint flame. Even though they’re not blood brothers, the relatioship, in Tris’ mind falls into an ‘iffy’ category having grown up together and he is all beat-up about it because he couldn’t have imagined a relationship with different feelings for Trevor any different that what it currently was even if they were.
In spite of all this, the brothers are really close, love and care about one another and it shows through the incredible flow of Alina’s writing. The angst, the hint of taboo and the love in this story made me want it to not end where it did, and I really, really hope to see these two in a later stage of life (*wink*).

HASH(0xad40e258) out of 5 stars Emotional and unusual read...I actually cried. 15 January 2016
By Sinfully - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Fall in love with your brother was the first line I read and immediately thought – WTF. Thankfully, that didn’t last long. In the next paragraph, I found out the men were not actually related. They were raised together but not related. Like the main character, I sighed with relief.

The way in which this story is written is unusual – at least for me. I’ve never read a story before that starts in the form of a blog. That alone immediately perked my attention. I like an author who isn’t afraid to do something different, and this author seems to like producing stories outside the box.

Yes, Tristan is in love with his non-biological brother, Trevor, and he hates himself for it. He hates himself with a vengeance. He believes himself dirty and perverted because, for a lifetime, he’s thought of Trevor as his brother. Tristan has also been living in a world where he’s had to watch his older brother develop, and become the town’s gay stallion. So, as soon as possible he leaves and only returns when he absolutely has to. Distance though does not make his desires wane.

I’m ashamed to say that at one point I thought, Yeah I get it, he’s depressed, move on. But, the realization hit me that, what was being realistically depicted was the way in which certain forms of depression takes hold of a person. Yet, beneath it, all Tristan still holds on to hope that his brother will be happy, even if it’s not with him, and that he himself will find a way out of his love for Trevor. At times too, I wondered if his feelings were unhealthy in a psychiatric way. But again, there is something about Tristan that drew me in, tugged at my heartstrings and made me root for him – to the point where I actually cried. The emotions a story invokes in me makes the difference between a 4 and 5* rating.

If, like me, you salivate at reading a story that is not only written different but will have your emotions doing everything from the rumba to a Paso Doble (yes I watched the latest Strictly) – you will love this.

HASH(0xad40e75c) out of 5 stars Can't wait for book two!!! 16 January 2016
By Teecee - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
I absolutely loved this book. Alina did an amazing job describing Tristan's different kind of feelings: pain, love and desire and more towards Trevor, his older brother. When their parents tell them about them not being related, Tristan feels even worse. He wants Trevor amotionally and phisically even more now. And then something happens and... sorry! Can't say!
I couldn't stop reading and in less than thirty minutes I was like, "Oh no! I want more!". The blog idea was really clever and I liked to read more about Tris and what was happening inside and around him since he started to see Trev in another light.

HASH(0xad40eba0) out of 5 stars My Rating: 4.5 of 5 Stars 23 January 2016

Br0th3rly is a blog written by an adoring younger brother who talks about his love for the man he grew up knowing as his older brother. Before you get twisted thoughts, bear in mind this is not an incestuous romance between blood brothers. This is not taboo twincest either.

This is the story of two unrelated by any blood or gene men who fell in love but did nothing about it for fear of rejection and getting ostracized by society. They are two men who loved but did nothing to act on the love for fear. One brother, Tristan, bares his mind and soul anonymously in a blog. Although the comments section is always disabled, he is a minion of followers who reblog and share whatever posts he writes at 3 or so in the morning. This anonymity, this mystery of a writer, it caught the imagination of said minions to the effect Br0th3rly is very famous on the Internet.

Does Trevor know what Tristan is doing? No. As this is the first book, you readers will realize this is going to be an ongoing story of Trevor's and Tristan's relationship and how it will get affected by Br0th3rly.

This is a very fast read and at more or less ninety pages, seems too short. The feelings Tristan has for Trevor are laid bare but Trevor is oblivious. We the readers become the minions who follow Br0th3rly's posts. We are curious what he has to say next and being unable to post the comments because it's disabled makes it a bit frustrating.

Alina Popescu is on to something here and this has gotten my curiosity meter pinging. Looking forward to when Trevor discovers how Br0th3rly is going to affect his life.

HASH(0xad40e480) out of 5 stars Fresh 30 January 2016

Tristan has been in love with the man raised as his brother, Trevor, since he was ten years old. Trevor's sleeping around ways have forced Tristan into a self-imposed isolation, staying away from Trevor and his parents as far as possible to avoid being hurt. When Trevor brings home a boyfriend Tristan runs as fast as he can, unable to deal with the thought of losing him for good.

I really enjoyed the way that this book was written. It was witty and fresh. Both Trevor and Tristan will have you smiling throughout. These guys belong together and they are incredibly cute with each other as friends and more. This is a short, quick read but it will lift your mood and leave you feeling hopeful.
