Boss of Me is a standalone office romance, walking into a office filled dominantly with men and a snippet of history from her sister Raquel aka Rocky goes against everything and falls for her boss.
Patton is dedicated to his job, he is out to prove to his father that taking the company international was the right choice as well as having his old team members be part of the company, even if that means covering for them. Raquel knew something happened with her sister but she has never pushed to find out what, when all the secrets are on the table where do they all land?
I won’t deny that Patton and Raquel have chemistry, it’s there; but I personally felt like that I was thrown around with the roller coaster of emotions throughout this book. I was baffled a bit by the epilogue and how everything played out.
While this installment from Tia wasn’t my favorite I look forward to more work from her in the future.

Boss of Me by Tia Louise was a romantic tale of love in the workplace, skeletons in the closet, misconceptions gone awry and a whole lot of sexy time. Well-written and well-paced this standalone is told in dual POV between Patton Fletcher & Raquel Morgan.
Patton is the boss and the man behind the inherited family business of commercial real estate, the AirBNB of the business world. He is ex-military and his work partners are also his Seal Team guys. In an effort to give them all a goal post military and keep them together. With one teammate determined to drink away his memories, another in constant pain, he has his work cut out for him. When the new hire shows up and is a beautiful woman (he prefers to only hire men after the last incident) he balks at the thought of working with her. But even stubborn and stoic Patton cannot deny her business acumen and ability to do her job excellently.
Raquel is so happy to be working for Fletcher International, even knowing that her sister quit this place a couple of years ago and then had her breakdown. Even realizing that her new boss is kind of stubborn, demanding and hot. She isn't supposed to think that way about her boss but as long as she doesn't act on it, right?
The back and forth between Raquel and Patton and the chemistry too - Phew! - and the growth they go through is well written. Enjoy!

I have to admit I have missed the last few books from Tia, but after reading Boss Of Me I was reminded just how good her stories are.
This story had a little bit of everything in it. When I read the prologue I wondered if I had started a different story but it all makes sense once you get in to the book.
Patton is the type of Hero I love to read. He comes across as a harsh man, even arrogant. But once his eyes landed on Raquel he fell hard and fast. I love when this happens!!
Raquel was also a great character. I thought she matched Patton perfectly. She certainly gave as good as she got and the sparks certainly flew between them.
I am hoping that some of the minor characters in this book end up with their own stories as I would definitely love to read them.

This is the second book I’ve read by Tia Louise and she has a way of making her characters real and not just words on a page and I could actually see this story playing out in my head.
Sparks fly between Raquel and Patton from the minute they meet when Raquel starts her new dream job at Patton’s firm although I wouldn’t say they were enemies as this is more an office romance. Patton is troubled and he feels he owes a debt to his friends, his former marines unit and he’s carrying guilt for his fellow marines Marley and Taron who were injured when they served together. Patton often comes across as annoyed, irritated and short tempered but really he’s focused on building his business up so that it can support his friends while at the same time push down the guilt and loneliness he’s feeling. He begins a relationship with Raquel within a week of her joining his firm and they sizzle together. They’re just so comfortable with each other and we begin to see a different Patton but will he change enough to let her boss his heart or will his guilt and feelings of responsibility for his friends keep him captive?
Even though Tia has written this as a stand-alone I would encourage you to read Boss of Me first as Taron’s story carry’s over to Wait For Me.
I’m looking forward to reading more of Tia’s stories and I absolutely recommend Boss of Me.

I liked this but did not love it. Patton was ok, but a little hot and cold. Raquel was a strong heroine and they had great chemistry together. Something was missing for me, maybe too many other characters were involved and this took away from Patton and Raquel’s time together. Admittedly there time together got quiet steamy, and Tia Louise knows how to turn the heat up, so it was no hardship reading this one, but just fell short for me.

Absolutely loved this one! Patton was the perfect level of alpha and he met his match in Rocky. Their banter. Their chemistry. Their underlying affection was so great! There were definitely times I wanted to junk punch him but that’s why I loved him.
Definitely recommend.

Two hard headed people, instant chemistry, love/hate office relationship, yep Boss if Me is a hit for me, I read it in an afternoon. Alpha Boss Man Patton was loyal to his military team/brother's, and he's grown his family Fletcher business. But when the newest hire walks in, he's met his match with Rocky(Raquel), she feisty and she won't go down without a fight. You could feel their chemistry coming off the pages.

Raquel needs to nail this job interview her sister has helped her set up. But when her boss turns out to be the devil in a gorgeous suit, will she give in to what her body's screaming at her to do? What about when her heart's in danger?
Holy smokes Batman, but Boss of Me is freaking hot with ust! All the barbs and scowls Patton throws at Raquel are so obviously masking not just serious attraction, but something much deeper. I love how it really didn't take long for Patton's devilish exterior to soften up though, to open up to her. She was so perfect for Patton, who wasn't really accustomed to anything other than focusing on his company and taking care of his team, of his family. So when this sassy woman strolls into his life, he has no idea how to deal at first. In true fashion, though, his fall was glorious to read!
Enemies to lovers and office romances are two of my favorite tropes and it's reads like this one why I love them so much. Angst and wit and snark when perfectly balanced with deeper emotion and layered characters who just don't want to give in to what is so obvious to the reader...gah, I love it when I read that kind of thing, and this author does it perfectly. Patton's surely a devil at first, but Raquel is the perfect combination of sweet and sassy to bring out his softer side, to bring out his truly good heart. I know I always gush about her writing, and this review will be no different, because she's at the top of her game with Raquel and Patton!

Best kind of office romance, feisty woman brings an uptight CEO to his knees!!
Reviewed in the United States on 3 December 2019Verified Purchase
Boss of Me is an absolute page turner!! Seriously sexy, tons of heat and so much more.
Boss begins with Patton Fletcher as commander of a special rescue mission. He and his brothers in arms, Taron and Sawyer, are out to rescue one of their own. Marley had been kidnapped and is being held hostage. The acts of brutality these four men went through rescuing Marley left them all with demons.
Seven years later, Patton is now the CEO of his dad’s former company, Fletcher International. He is highly successful and totally bent on still taking care of his men. Taron and Marley both work for him at FI …for better or worse! It’s while Patton is out of town on business that Taron hires Raquel Morgan. But is Patton going to be ready for this spitfire?
Raquel is everything that Patton isn’t ready for! Not only did she graduate at the top of her class, but she is smart, hard-working, ambitious and gorgeous! It’s when she meets/sees her boss, Patton, for the first time that her world gets flipped upside down. Can you say panty melting?
Patton is caught off guard too. It was lust at first sight and their attraction was helluva hot!!
Could Patton even begin to deny his attraction to Raquel? He is left filled with thoughts of her, trying to convince himself she was not an option for him. Yet, Raquel pushed buttons that invaded his thoughts even more, making him want what he swore he didn’t.
After saving his a$$, as well as business deals, a couple of times she became even harder to ignore. In fact, I think he was quite enamored with her. It was only a matter of time before this flame was going to burst into a full-on wildfire. Once that fire started so did many things.
I loved the way Raquel calmed his demeanor, making him feel happy, making that gorgeous dimple appear when he smiled. ~swoon! Raquel is one lucky girl! Aww, Patton didn't fair badly either. Raquel brought a light to his life that he had never had. But there is a big secret that Patton is holding close to his chest, one that could change everything between them.
I loved this book and what a great read!
After all, it always fun to watch a gorgeous, feisty women bring an uptight CEO to his knees!!

I loved Boss of Me, and now I'm looking for more Tia Louise stories!!
Reviewed in the United States on 19 November 2020Verified Purchase
This is my first Tia Louise read but it definitely won't be my last. That's all due to how much I enjoyed the book, Boss of Me. Patton, Raquel (Rocky), and the other characters in the story all came across to me as real people with real joys and concerns. There was nothing about the people or in the plot for which I had to suspend any disbelief. Rocky is smart as a whip, setting out to find her adult path after earning her MBA. Although Patton comes from wealth, he is a former Marine who has dealt with too much violence in his military career, and who has shouldered too much responsibility for men who were under his command. He broods and barks a lot. It seemed to me these characters could have been individuals alive today, as the author portrayed them in such a wonderfully down-to-earth way through good fortune and bad. Even the slime-bucket, Jerry, was someone you might have, unfortunately, run across in real life. Of course, the relationship between feisty Rocky and major grump Patton was the jeweled centerpiece of this story. Drawn to each other from the beginning, it was a semi-slow, spiraling build-up to the breathtakingly heated encounters between them. The author wrote those sizzling scenes so-o-o well!
A cooked-up scandal brings suspense and angst that Rocky, Patton and his company must try to overcome. Whether trust can be re-built between the couple is not a sure thing, and Rocky sets out to uncover the facts, while I stewed over the fate of these two. I have to say I didn't see the ending coming with not just one couple's HEA, but a second couple’s also. I think Boss of Me is worthy of 5 stars.
