Universal speaker for using with TV, Video, Music and Alexa My Tv doesn't have HDMI ARC but RCA to optical converter works great with no lag Clear Sound for dialog and music, maybe add a Bass Module if big thud is your thing Great for Spotify or Amazon Music; used the equalizer to adjust to my taste The Bose Soundbar 500 unit exceeded my expectations
This wireless sub is an unobtrusive addition to my lounge room but provides the perfect, rich bass rumblings when watching my movie as well as a deep tone that completes the sounf for everyday TV. I run it with my Soundbar 500 and it is just right for me.
Nice sound and well built. I chose Bose over a Samsung soundbar in the same price bracket due the the built in Alexa feature.
As a long-term Echo owner I have become accustomed to using Alexa around my home. The idea of having my sound bar being able to replace the Echo dot in the TV room was irresistible.
Unfortunately Alexa’s skills are somewhat limited at the moment. Spotify is not compatible with voice commands. So when you say ‘Alexa, play my music on Spotify…’ you are met with ‘Spotify is not supported on this device’, even though the Bose App says that it supports Spotify. A great shame. I hold out hope for this feature being supported in future updates.
Overall I rate the Soundbar 500 quite highly. It sounds wonderful, has a good array of connections and I love the ability to add surround speakers and a subwoofer to expand the system’s capabilities. It also looks beautiful under my television. I just wish Spotify was available through Alexa voice commands!
Come on Bose, this can’t be a difficult problem to fix!
