The chopper works great. The blender not so much.
The blender base (the part with the blades that you can remove for washing), so the blender base unscrews itself from the bowl during operation if there is any resistance -- such as frozen fruit.
Three days ago I tried to make a shake with fresh apples+frozen strawberries and I watched in horror as the mixture started pouring out of the bottom of the bowl while the blender was running!
Fine, I thought, perhaps frozen strawberries are too hard for this blender (though they were just fine for my old blender). So today I made a shake with bananas and frozen avocado slices which are smaller and much softer and easier to break than strawberries. Result: a mess, again, flowing down the base.
It looks like the motor, which should only be turning the blades, is actually turning the whole base unscrewing it from the bowl.
Upon inspection, I noticed that one of the plastic bits that should secure the base to the bowl is chipped. I don't know if it came that way, or if it broke during the apple-strawberry shake incident. Either way, I expect better quality from a brand like Bosch.
