Do note though that the cartridge contains the first Borderlands game, and includes a download code for Borderlands 2 (GOTY) and Borderlands Pre-Sequel (Ultimate Ed.) from the Nintendo eShop.

The games require a fair bit of storage though. You’ll need 21.8GB of free space for Borderlands 2, and 12GB for the Pre-Sequel. The first game still requires 7.6GB of free space as well, even with the cartridge.

My biggest issue is that only Borderlands 1 is on the cartridge, the rest requires downloading

An absolutely brilliant, near perfect game on the worst possible system for it. It's slow, clunky and graphically terrible. The game also carries a strong focus for online co-op, however Nintendo has always had a strong focus on making online play as abysmal as it possibly could be.
