Product description

Product Description

Ian’s alpha tosses him out of his car at a training camp for worthless and weak wolf shifters run by a crazy vampire.

His only choice is to escape and go lone wolf.

Until he runs into Clare…

She actually volunteered for this gig.

Her wolf is all alpha but it’s crammed into a petite package, and she definitely has no mercy when it comes to him.

The work is hard.

The training dangerous.

Surviving is optional.

Clare can’t stand Ian’s disregard for her authority and he hates her driven ambition.

Sparks fly and teeth are bared. Opposites attract they say.

If they don’t kill each other first.

Having just read the ARC for book 2 of this series "Vanguard Elite", I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this book on Amazon for free, I automatically brought it & quickly devoured it. Although I read book 2 prior to reading this book, I was still able to understand what was going on, maybe even more than if I'd read it in order.

Clare volunteered to join the bootcamp, the only sibling to have the alpha gene, but a daughter, this is her chance to proove that girls can do just as well as the boys. Her alpha gene has Clare keeping everything in check as the other wolves arrive. Ian's alpha tosses him out of the car, cuffed & un aware of what was going on. His only choice is to escape, go it alone, but after a run in with some trespassers, Ian is left wondering.

Oh my goodness, the human town not to far away definitely cause some trouble, I loved the interractions between Ian & Clare, as well as the wolves within their small circle. Pallus is scary, but he makes everything weave into the story so much easier, also his slight background reveal... WOW. I can't wait to read what happens next in the series.

I have read this authors earlier books for the Vanguards and quite enjoyed them but wasn't fussed about waiting for more. They were not good and not bad, fairly entertaining.
I didn’t rush to buy this book due to that fact.
This story was better but the grammatical errors drove me nuts. I know this was an ARC but it was still way too many to have made it through BETA reading.
I did like both Clare and Ian and thought Pallas was interesting but I did not like Jake being killed. That was just rotten and served no purpose to me. I understand it was meant to bring them together but it did not work in my mind.
Apart from that an enjoyable read that can be taken as a standalone as none of the previous characters make a visit, they are only mentioned.
This is my honest review of this book.

Another great start to another great series!

This book was AWESOME!!! I loved everything about it. Being very familiar with Annie's books, I was VERY happy to see her use of the Nosferatu vampire in this series.

I enjoyed both Clare and Ian, and I liked reading their transformation from uncertain to dominant, from lost to found.

My favorite part might have been more towards the end when vampire Pallas meets human Sheriff Lee (can't wait to read more about their story!!!)

The ONLY reason I gave this book 4 stars was due to the proofreading issues throughout the book. Aside from that, this book was AMAZING, peppered with the "trademark Annie humor" I love to read, and I have already purchased the next one and can't wait to read it!!!

I liked this book as far as it went but it ended halfway through the story. I think that books like this should have clearly stated at the front that this is Part One.
Ian and Clare are strong characters but I resent having to buy another book to find out what happens to the pack. I'm not yet sure if I'll bother.
