Product description

Product Description

Presenting the one and only Mr Paul Keating – at his straight-shooting, scumbag-calling, merciless best.

Paul lets rip – on John Howard: “The little desiccated coconut is under pressure and he is attacking anything he can get his hands on.”

On Peter Costello: “The thing about poor old Costello is he is all tip and no iceberg.”

On John Hewson: “[His performance] is like being flogged with a warm lettuce.”

On Andrew Peacock: “...what we have here is an intellectual rust bucket.”

On Wilson Tuckey: “...you stupid foul-mouthed grub.”

On Tony Abbott: “If Tony Abbott ends up the prime minister of Australia, you’ve got to say, God help us.”

And that’s just a taste .

A nice little book of the collected sayings, wisdom, insults and general verbal output associated with a great PM. It might actually be better to splash out and buy the physical book for one's coffee table.

Yes, very entertaining , but too short. Paul Keating is a most remarkable man with tremendous wit and sense of fun, and he brought terrific ambience to our rather dull Parliament proceedings.. He should be recognised , along with the great Gough Whitlam , as one of the most outstanding politicians this country has ever seen. I would like to see a lot more of his wit and wisdom.

as a labour supporter I have always admired Paul Keating. His courage his vision and his cutting wit. A man who came from a working class family with little formal education who rose to lead the labour party and the Nation. I enjoyed this book but had expected more especially after reading Life with Gough by Barry Cohen. For the price it was good value.

A great little book focused on humor and straight shoot talking from one of our most colorful leaders in the History of Australian Politics, Paul Keating. With his own style and wit, a well set out book, sit back and expect a few chuckles on this one. Humour and Politics, just when we didn't think they go together Paul has proven us wrong! Great read highly recommended.

Very funny book - oh how I miss Paul Keating. Delicious and sometimes malicious. Parliament will never see the likes of him again, more's the pity.
