everything in one book2 March 2011 - Published on Amazon.com
This single book had everything I needed to help find and maintain my first tree... and then my second and third :) The thing is, there are SO many books and resources on the web that a person just doesn't know where to start? I got lucky when an aquaintence who has been caring for bonsai for ten years suggested this title. The fact that it is a rather old book turned out to be a good thing! It cuts right to the chase with tons of information, side stepping most of the poetic writing I was finding when browsing the bookstore shelves. If you want just the facts, and want them all in one place, this might be the book your looking for? I have half a dozen, and this is the one I use the most. I am new to bonsai and like this book immensely.

Great book. Dan was a personal friend of the late Peter Adams and you can see how they influenced each other. It's almost as if they were brothers. Barton's book reveals excellent methods of the art of bonsai and many of its intricacies. Highly recommended. An older text, yet still quite relevant.
