From the Editor

I’ll admit I’m a sucker for celebrity gossip. There’s something satisfying—escapist even—about getting swept up in the larger-than-life affairs. Bombshell has all the elements of the juiciest celebrity headlines: scandal, A-listers and a ripped-from-the-headlines love story that sizzles with intense sexuality.

When we meet Brad Sinclair, he’s your typical Hollywood heart-throb, but his world is flipped upside down as he’s given a role he never asked for: being a father. After a former fling passes away, he’s left to care for their five-year-old-daughter, Nicole. He’s all she’s got, so Brad vows to give parenting his best, but will he? Brad enlists the help of Cara DuMont, a whip-smart nanny to some of LA’s most privileged kids. She vows to steer clear of her deliciously handsome employer—he’s not a movie star for nothing—but can she?

The story is told through their alternating points of view, but I found Cara’s especially compelling. It’s through her eyes that we get an insider’s look at the life behind the life, a peek behind the curtain. But as Cara becomes entrenched in Brad’s world, it’s equally fascinating to learn just how human he is.

Product Description

From New York Times bestselling author CD Reiss, a standalone romance about a nanny, a Hollywood star, and a love they never expected.

Hollywood bad boy Brad Sinclair always gets his way, whether it’s the role he wants or the bikini-clad model he has to have. But when a bombshell gets dropped in his lap in the form of a dimpled five-year-old from a forgotten relationship, he knows his life is about to change forever.

Cara DuMont isn’t exactly thrilled when she gets assigned to be the nanny for the latest box-office king. She has one rule: no celebrity fathers, especially single ones with devilish good looks and rock-hard abs.

But as soon as Cara meets Brad and his adorable little girl, she knows she’s in for a world of trouble. Because there’s something about the way Brad looks at her that makes her believe that some rules are meant to be broken…

I pre purchased this book when I had read the first chapter that CD Reiss had put on Facebook. I'm so glad I did. I loved it. Another great story with loveable characters with a happy ending. What more could you ask for?

As a major fan of CD Reiss, Bombshell was another amazingly beautiful story of finding love without too much angst or drama.

I requested 'Bombshell' as an ARC as the cover intrigued me and I have a fondness for romance and especially single dad/nanny stories. To be honest I wasn't expecting much other than a quick, easy read to pass the night when the kids were off doing their own things or mesmerised by their devices.
The fact is, it more than pleasantly surprised me. Rather than Insta-Everything which often happens in these types of tropes it was more of a slow burn, where the emotion and love creept up on the reader and the characters felt real.

When Hollywood's "it" boy Brad Sinclair unexpectedly gets a 5 year old toddler dropped off and told that he is the daddy... so, he does what he usually does - gets his people to handle it! They in turn get a nanny. Cara DuMont is that nanny however she isn’t super excited to work for this guy because she knows he will be trouble. In fact, she has one rule: no celebrity fathers... especially single ones who are incredibly good looking.

But while some rules are meant to be broken, there is something rather sweet and real and raw about Bombshell that you feel the only thing breaking is a few Hollywood egos. It felt like celebrity gossip you could follow in the popular press today when the realisation hits that the star is actually just a normal (super hot) guy. It's pretty special. As the book editor eloquently surmised 'Bombshell has all the elements of the juiciest celebrity headlines: scandal, A-listers and a ripped-from-the-headlines love story that sizzles with intense sexuality.'
Not to mention it's sizzling hot and super swoon worthy.

I really really enjoyed this book by C D Reiss which was very well written and a good story with lots of depth. How can you go wrong with a sexy leading Hollywood actor, a young gorgeous nanny and a five year old little girl thrown into the mixing pot. Not a lot you might say and this would be true.

Brad Sinclair is at the top of his game as a Hollywood actor when he discovers he has a daughter from a past relationship and she lands into his lap literally when her mother passes away suddenly. As you can imagine Brad is more than shocked, he is living the dream of parties, sex, and lots of hard work making movies. What he doesn't need or know what to do with is a five year old daughter called Nicole who delights us all in this book; super cute with a smart mouth and a grown up head on her little shoulders she gives Brad a run for her money in more ways than one. All Brad wants is his old lifestyle back as the playboy actor, but he is struggling to come to terms with his responsibilities.

Then he meets Cara. She is a nanny for the super rich and privileged and is extremely good at her job; Brad see's this and want's to hire her but she is reluctant because from the off Cara is attracted to Brad and she values her position and the career she has built and does not want that gorgeous distraction of a man to jeopardise what she has worked hard for all her life.
Brad is not taking no for an answer and it seems Nicole has taken an extra special shine to Cara and she feels she cannot refuse the job.

So the fun begins and Cara and Brad do work well together and Cara's character was strong and determined which I really enjoyed.

Cara Dumont has a rule -- no working as a nanny for celebrities. But when the job she recently accepted falls through, she finds herself assigned to gorgeous movie star, Brad Sinclair and his five-year old daughter; a daughter he's only just recently learnt he had. Will Cara be able to do her job without falling for Brad, or will Cara find herself needing to defend herself against the media storm that's bound to happen if they learn a Hollywood A-Lister has fallen for his kid's nanny?

I've heard a lot of good things about Ms. Reiss's books, and so I just had to read one for myself, and I've got to say that I really enjoyed this first book of her Hollywood A-List series. The way this story started had me empathizing with the hero's little girl, as she's been placed with a father she's never even met after having just recently lost her mother. How is a girl so young supposed to deal with such lose? Will anyone be able to help Brad's daughter? However, it was from the moment that the hero and heroine came face-to-face for the first time in this story that I loved, as Brad is used to getting everything his own way and he wants Cara as his daughter's nanny.

Both the main characters kept me entertained from start to finish due to their back stories, their growing relationship, all they go through within this story and how they interact with the hero's little girl. She's adorable and so easy to love that I could understand why Cara finds it hard to walk away from her, even though she knows it's in her best interest to do so, because celebrity fathers as gorgeous as Brad Sinclair are trouble with a capital T. Moreover, I could sympathize with all Cara's been through in her past and could understand her reasons for becoming a nanny.
