Product Description

Bombshell is the FOURTH novel in the humorous and suspenseful Dev Haskell mystery series.

"Dev is at it again. Put the coffee on, and plan to stay up late, this is a real page turner." -The Irish Gazette

Dysfunctional, bumbling, crazy babe-magnet Dev Haskell, Private Investigator, has just landed the job of a lifetime. He'll be the envy of every guy with a heartbeat: Dev is hired to provide security for a team of beautiful English roller derby stars (with stage names like Harlotte Davidson and Helen Killer). Though he'd rather be standing guard in the shower room, he finds himself in a world of trouble when he's mistaken for the stalker-turned-killer he's been tracking.

With an attorney who drinks too much and a team of females ready to kill him, Dev must prove his innocence, all the while finding the real killer and protecting himself against the wiles of yet another irresistible and dangerous woman.

A bit of light-hearted fun but nothing too exciting.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not worth finishing... made it to chapter 25 30 December 2013

I just couldn't stand it anymore when I got to Chapter 25 and I'd really been pushing myself to stick with it long before that point. The book is obviously intended for men who find porn, daily drunkenness, and casual sex interesting. I don't fit any of those 4 requirements. To top it off, it is poorly written.

4.0 out of 5 stars Roller Derby murder mayhem 14 June 2015

St. Paul PI Dev Haskell is a poor judge of women but a good judge of booze. His date Carol jilts him for a Frenchman, Nicholas. Meanwhile he's hired to protect a visiting roller derby team, The Bombshells. When he is framed for a roller derby queen murder, even his cop buddy, Vice Lieutenant, Aaron LaZelle, and Louie, an alcoholic public defender, about to be debarred, can't bail him out. Detective Manning is out for Dev's head. He thinks he's nailed Dev to the wall this time. Nicholas is a bad penny, and suddenly it's case of crossed cases. When Dev again runs afoul of the law, there's only so much Dev's friends can do to keep him out of trouble this time. Once again Dev has to save himself by solving the crime. Some madcap adventures and romps in and out of the bedroom help to solve this murder mystery.

(There are some typos: martini's, for example. I wasn't keeping track, the book was fast-paced, but I still noted them. Though I enjoyed this book, it felt rushed, less crafted than Faricy's other Dev Haskell books.
5.0 out of 5 stars Another great Dev Haskell story 21 May 2015

'Bombshell' is another great book in the 'Dev Haskell' series. I love how the storyline had Dev in the middle of another huge mess. The great thing about Dev is that he is consistently mucking things up, royally ticking off women and somehow solves cases in the meantime. His antics are hilarious and usually end up having the opposite effect he was going for. The characters were great. This is one of those series that I've grown to love. I look forward to reading more of Dev's adventures. A great add to your tbr list.
4.0 out of 5 stars Fun, fast paced 25 August 2015

I was looking for a very light read after reading my last novel, and this was just the ticket! Fun, fast paced, an easy read. Even a little squeemish in parts. This book started out at a fast pace, and I wondered if the author would be able to keep it up. So many books in this genre can start off at a gallop, but slow down to a crawl. But, nope, the pace continued right through to the end. I found Dev Haskell to be a really good hearted likeable guy, although it seems a lot of these reviewers saw him as somewhat of a sexist jerk. I totally disagree! If anything, poor Mr. Haskell seemed to be getting it right and left from all the women in the story although, for the most part, I don't think he minded it too much! For example, there is his so called girlfriend at the beginning of the story, Carol. Now there is a so-called "jerk" for you! These women are bossy and just order him around!! But, again, Dev just goes with the flow. In short, I would recommend this book as a light hearted diversion. I have downloaded several other Dev Haskell books and will be reading them as well, peppered in with my heavier reading. Good job, Mr. Faricy!!

This is number 4 in the series of Dev Haskell series. Once again Dev finds himself in trouble with the police when he takes on a new case to make extra money. He is now looking into and protecting a roller derby team. One of the female members of the team has been getting death threats a long with a middle finger. Once again Dev finds himself the main suspect when bad things happen on Dev's watch and once again its up to him to solve the crimes. This is a light hearted, fun read. Its a quick book. There are a few laugh out loud moments in here too.
