Adam gets more than he bargained for when his client combines coming out of the closet with them both trying to stay alive.

4.0 out of 5 stars A rushed sci-fi soap opera fable 5 August 2014
By Aghash - Published on Amazon.com

To be honest, I think it rather deserves three or even as few as two stars for being an ad-hoc pancake that got burnt in the process of making. The body guard is too-know-it-all, the actor to be body-guarded is too hysterical and shallow and the entire complicated psychological process of coming out, sorting out the inevitably screwed Hollywood carrier and private life gets miraculously solved in a blink of an eye. In other words, the fable has little meat on its skeleton. On the other hand perhaps that's the mission of this easy read - to keep one's mind off complex real life stuff and let it cajole you through. I guess it serves that purpose OK. The cover picture doesn't hurt either. And I was lucky to the second book of the bodyguard series first - it is far more engaging and has more depth and thus lured me to this one. However, nothing happens if you skip this and go straight for book 2 :-)
5.0 out of 5 stars Another great series by Miss Scott 8 August 2015

Another great series by Miss Scott. Even though each story is a standalone with the exception of characters being mentioned in passing or cameos, I'm writing an overall series review and each book easily deserves a 5 bookmark rating. Many of us have some kind of bodyguard fantasy and with Bodyguards, Inc the reader gets a peak into the life of the occupation. Each book has a little bit of everything, mystery, intrigue, drama, love, with definite levels of hotness throughout. You might be thinking that what you have here is the Kevin Costner/Whitney Houston movie Bodyguard with a gay twist, the truth is there are some similar elements but really, this series has so much more depth and appeal with every page. Some say that relationships that are born during times of crisis and danger are not always everlasting but I think relationships, be it friends or lovers, can be built at any time and in these tales the author shows us how true it can really be.
5.0 out of 5 stars A very true and thrilling love story of two men who fall for each other and learn to stand together and support each 4 August 2014

This is the first book by this writer I have read and I will say it is very well written and story line is very simple and easy to follow and you not only read the book you become part of the story. The basic story is Man meets Mans and falls in love and finds who they are and how they are meant to be together and stand by each other through thick and thin.
Logan an American and a closet actor who know that he is gay but can not out due to being an actor has a very fake life, fake girlfriend and lives to one day to man up and say who he is and on a trip to England he must face the demons of both who he is and also a well know threat to his life a crazed fan.
Adam an Englishman and a openly gay bodyguard who is getting over a bad relationship that did not work due to the work he does. He lives a life of danger but he can be happy because he knows and is excepted as a gay man.
Both men are totally different from each other but in the end you see opposite do attract and the bonds become much stronger. The crazed fan I want go into due to it would give the story away. I highly recommend the book and you find you can set it down because it will keep you wanting to know more and in many ways you actually feel you are part of the story. And in the end a very Happy Ending and two very Happy Men who fell in love and learn the world would stand by them as a Gay Actor, Director and Bodyguard.
5.0 out of 5 stars obvious TV material 14 April 2014

What's not to like about a well written book containing a great 'who-is-gonna-turn-out-to-be-the-bad-guy-story', a couple of good looking men with believable behaviour, and a slow growing love story, that we know is gonna end good, but as the story moves along you get increasingly worried if it's ever gonna happen and how.

How nice to see a RJ story taking place in the UK, and to experience how she subtlety explains the differences between Americanisms and British quirkyness. I loved the whole 'this is gonna be tomorrow's chip wrapper' line. And the accompanying American question "is that not unhygienic ?"

This is one of these books where this reader can picture the whole story as a TV programme, in fact it would make a good pilot for a new ITV series.

Have to find out more about this series.

3.0 out of 5 stars Easy read 28 January 2013

*********** possible spoilers ******************

Ok, bodyguard Adam is assigned to actor Logan to protect him through a fan convention. A few twists and turns but it didn't create any angst for me as I had already figured out who was the problem.

I felt like I was reading good quality fan fic and a few times I stopped and thought about current tv characters. I have been to a fan convention and the book followed the steps through fan signings, breakfast so it felt like quite a smooth read.

I thought the relationship grew between Adam and Logan was really quick and I think this is why I didn't really feel very invested in the story.

It was an ok read but I won't be reading it again.
