The author Duncan Alexander Maclean is from Australia. The title ‘Blue Circle’ refers to the symbol of the Living Planet or Earth Mother.
The theme of this story is the journey of mankind and their knowledge spreading out on earth over hundreds and thousands of years.
In this spiritual fantasy the story is narrated by the spirit of Malcolm who is reborn again and again from time to time over thousands of years in different places.
Sometimes the spirit of Malcolm remains in physical form for thousands of years and then for short periods he remains behind in the spirit world. The story gives us glimpses of those lives. When the spirit opens its eyes in another life it can be to assist Roman aggressors or to a tribe living with the knowledge of Confucius teachings.
An amazing and unusual narrative written with a unique use of language and dialogue style throughout the entire story in which we meet Garoke and Arose and the women of the Blue Circle.
I give the book a 5 star rating.
