Product Description

For 2000 years he's roamed the earth, taking whatever he desires...until he falls under the spell of the only woman who can destroy his immortal bloodlust...

Depraved and dissolute, the vampire Alexius is tired of Regency London, until he's bewitched by a dark haired seductress. Abduction, bondage and decadent seduction feature in Alexius' plans, but before the sun rises dynamics have shifted and he's the one fighting the silken bonds of captivity. Entranced by such novelty, he denies his bloodlust and decides to keep her to warm his bed.

Immortal vampire hunter Morana has never mistaken her prey before, but the sinfully seductive stranger mesmerizes her, enticing her to forget everything but the dangerous pleasure she finds in his arms. But as they fall under each other's hypnotic spell the past and present collide and unless they discover the truth behind the lies, Death will triumph once more.

I just want to say the the cover of this book is awesome. It might be a little too much for some people. This book was great. I will warn you that there is a little BDSM in this book. If you don’t like your books hot and spicy, then don’t read it.

The author did a great job with this story. I was hooked until I reached the end. You get to see inside the characters in depth. Alexius is a vampire that has been searching for his true love. She died the night that he was turned without his permission. He tried to protect his wife, but when he got home it was too late. He knows he will never find another like her. That is until he meets Morana. There is just something that draws him to her.

Morana made a deal with death to find the one that killed her brother. She vows to kill every vampire she sees until she finds the killer. She has a partner in crime, Thanatos who helps her draw the vampires to them. When she sees a man coming towards her and she gives into her lust, he changes something inside her that will never be the same.

This is a book I could read over and over again. Just to see the passion between these two. You wonder how in the world they could have such a huge connection with each other. I never thought I would see a vampire and maiden of death get together.

I just wish that the author had added a little more to the story. I wanted to see what happened to Thanatos. Maybe there will be a book about him later. I have to say that this is the first time that I have read a book by this author and I picked such a great one to start out with.
4.0 out of 5 stars a hot & bothered story 9 August 2015

This novella radiates sensuality at every turn!

The tone and style in which this novella was written suited the story perfectly. Phillips’ unique blend of sensuality and darkness kept me glued to the pages throughout. It felt as if there was a veil of secrecy over the entire story that was slowly evaporating as the characters came closer and close together. The paranormal twist to the characters makes the story stand out and become even more intriguing.

Morana was an intriguing individual. Her unique blend of confusion and self-assurance was one of a kind. To be honest, I didn’t know what to think of Alexius throughout most of the novel. He went from domineering to caring throughout. This made it hard to pinpoint his true character. This novella definitely has a light bulb moment when it comes to the characters, and the plot itself. It was fantastic and definitely drew the entire story together.

Once again Phillips has created a hot & bothered story with a strong emotional component. I loved the creativity and the sense of fulfilment at the end (excuse the pun).

Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.
4.0 out of 5 stars A love rediscovered amidst a haunting melody hundreds of years later 7 August 2015

While I don't usually read paranormal, once in a while it's nice to read something a little different.
Alexius is a vampire. His "life" reminds me of the movie Groundhog Day. Every day is pretty much the same, but for him it's hundreds of years. He keeps the same name, same home, just "becomes" his heir after years have passed.
Morana is a vampire hunter. Her brother was taken by a vampire and for hundreds of years she's been out for revenge.
One night Alexius "feels" something and hears this haunting violin melody...he comes upon a woman dancing's only the beginning.
Join Alexius and Morana as they discover, lose and rediscover each other in this wonderfully well written historic paranormal story and see where their love takes them and what twists and turns they find along the way!
Well done Christina Phillips! A historical vampire-ish romance I could get into!

4.0 out of 5 stars Vampires, Regency, and Erotica All in One! 8 June 2013
By Rhonda Valverde - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
Alexius, a vampire, is drawn to Morana the moment he catches her scent. He is led to a beautiful woman dancing seductively, and he knows he must have her in his bed. Morana is a vampire hunter luring the vampires with her dance of death. Alexius does not try to take her blood, so she chalks it up to a case of mistaken identity.

Alexius holds back his bloodlust for Morana, because she is different from all the others. They have an inexplicable pull to the other, but both keep their feelings guarded. I loved both characters that both have vulnerabilities they want to keep to themselves. Alexius' alpha behavior is a turn on as well is Morana's defiance.

I was very happy when I read the blurb, as I am a fan of paranormal, erotica, and I love a good regency romance. Phillips gave me all three, so how could I not be absolutely thrilled! Although this is more of a novella I felt like I was walking down the dark streets of London, and I was witnessing the way Alexius and Morana were totally consumed with each other. Phillips gives the reader enough detail to connect with the characters, and when they are together they are combustible!

The only problem I had with the story is that I wasn't ready to let go, I wanted more! I look forward to reading more books from Christina Phillips very soon!

5.0 out of 5 stars Captivating! 7 August 2015

Received in exchange for an honest review.

While I don't read paranormal that often, this book was captivating. Alexius and Morana were each interesting characters on their own, put them together and work through their story, they were quite a pair. I was glad they were able to work through their problems and find their HEA, with a few surprises along the way!
