Blood and Shadows is the second book in the Hand of Kali series by TG Ayer.
Since many people complain about not knowing about cliffhangers, Book 2 does finish, although it does lead into Book 3.
I still enjoy the story line. There's plenty of action and some twists and turns. The characters are likable, believable and Maya character continues to evolve. She's more comfortable with her fire power and adds more as the stories continue. Learning a new culture has an added interest to the story.
Other than a few smooches between Maya and Nik, there's really no love scenes, so this book I'd rate about PG-13.
The spelling and grammar errors are still in the book, but 'suffer' through this one if you're enjoying the story because Book 3 and 4 there's very little. Words misspelled, or the wrong word (which was spelled right) and the dashes are still there. For some it would drive them nuts, for me it got to be a game. Some of the ones in Book 1 or 2 I'm wondering if it was a different culture's spelling, but me born and raised in Michigan they were errors.
… Same rating as Book 1, four stars but really the spelling should bring it to 3-3.5 but I still enjoyed the story.
