Product Description

From Emma Hart, the New York Times bestselling author of the Game series, comes a brand new series where the game is realer, the tension is tighter, the sex is hotter, and the stakes are the highest of all...

Two people. Two agendas. Two games.

What happens when the out-there It-Boy of football meets the secret It-Girl of fashion?

As the daughter of Hollywood's sweetheart, Leah Veronica can't even buy a coffee without finding her face on a magazine stand, so it's no wonder she's launching her first fashion line in secret. With it debuting at New York Fashion Week in just under a month, extra time in the spotlight is the last thing she needs.

The son of the best quarterback the league has ever seen, filling legendary shoes as the L.A. Vipers' quarterback was inevitable for Corey Jackson. So was meeting Leah Veronica--the first girl to hand him his ass without putting a hair out of place.

Getting the sexy, prickly blonde into his bed becomes his number one goal. But getting the handsome, over-confident footballer the hell away from her becomes Leah's--at least until she realizes the best way to do that is to give him what he wants.

If only it was that simple.

When Corey discovers who she is, and private photos of Hollywood's finest find their way online, everything they thought they knew is thrown into disarray.

And when secrets are exposed and hearts are shattered, they have to figure out if they've been blindsided by love or reality, and if it's worth running the extra yard to win the game they never meant to play.

If youre a fan of Emma Hart & all those amazing hot guys that she has in her head, the ones that make you drool & secretly curse her for, because you can't put the book down & therefore you are lacking in sleep causing you to write a wacky review. Yep if thats you, then this is another one of her addictive books.
I love the wit, I love the love, the chemistry of the characters esp Leah. Sassy, sweet, seductive ....need I say more. It flows, it hooks you & that makes a good book or 2 or 3. Corey underneath all that crap you really are a sweetheart & a true gentleman.
I've told you nothing about the book but I don't think I have to, so if your a fan need I say more. The Burke Bros is on the list. So,loved the Wild & Call series too. Gotta luv ya Emma 👏 👙 😘

There are numerous errors and repetitions in this book. I found it very frustrating and it distracted from the story. Have it edited and updated on Amazon, before others purchase your work.

4.0 out of 5 stars Emma Hart has reminded me why I love her books so much 13 January 2015
By Amy Bosica - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Wow! Once again, Emma Hart has reminded me why I love her books so much! If you're looking for an exciting, HOT read, then look no further!

Blindsided follows the story of Corey and Leah. Leah is the daughter to Hollywood's sweetheart. She wants nothing more than to stay out of the spotlight, which may prove to be difficult when you're trying to launch your own fashion line. The last thing she was looking for was Corey. Corey is one of the best QB's that the league has seen. He's cocky, arrogant, and used to getting what he wants. So when Leah turns him down, he doesn't know what to do with himself. Suddenly his #1 goal is make Leah his. Sounds so easy, right???? What will happen when he realizes that Leah is no longer a game? Will Leah take a chance on him? Can Leah be in a relationship in the spotlight and still keep her secret??

I gotta say, I was intrigued by this one, and was hooked upon reading the first page. You could tell immediately from all the fighting that Corey and Leah were doing that they're chemistry was going to be off the charts and boy does Emma Hart not disappoint! As I said before Corey is confident and arrogant, but as the story goes on, you see that there is more to Corey than meets the eye. He's got a softer side that no one sees. And Leah, boy does she challenge Corey. She makes him work for her trust. She's got one fiery personality. And when you put Corey and Leah together......watch out!! They are smokin !!! Their chemistry is off the charts and you can't help, but root for them!

Blindsided was a quick and exciting read for me. I loved the characters. I found them very easy to connect with. This book made me laugh, smile, swoon, and frustrated me at times. It was steamy, sexy, funny and had just the right amount of angst and drama. If you enjoy celebrity drama, alpha males and lots of steam, you won't be disappointed! This is a really exciting start to this series and I can't wait to see where Emma Hart will take us next!

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome start to a new series! Corey Jackson is a sexy, smart mouthed footballer! 13 January 2015
By Kara Hildebrand - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
This is my first Emma Hart book, and boy am I glad I got to read it. Blindsided is the first book in a new series and I already miss Corey and Leah and can't wait to get my hands on book 2. I love football and football players and Corey Jackson is now one of my favorites. From his sexy, dirty, smart a** mouth to his hot athletic body. The only thing better than Corey in this book is Leah. She is sassy, independent and doesn’t fall for his crap. Yeah, she's attracted to him, but she fights him off, and very successfully I might add. They are both famous and they know who each other is, but she doesn't need the spotlight of Hollywood to shine any brighter on her. It becomes a game to him. He wants her and he's going to fight her every move. Little does he know that it's a game to her as well. What happens when two people are playing but the rules are different? Someone has to lose and someone has to win. Can they figure out how to both be on the winning side or will they be blindsided by love or betrayal. Corey and Leah have amazing chemistry and some of the best banter that I've read in a long time. I love his sexy Texas drawl and her sarcastic wit. The secondary characters are hilarious and the friends everyone wishes they had. If you love to laugh, cry and think footballers are sexy, don't miss this one!!

He's hot. The, er, tequila said so. Smart, that tequila.

"Babe, you wear a dress like that and you're gonna get looked at. Don't be blamin' me for it."
"You're the most honest a*****e I've ever met in my life."
"It's one of my better qualities."
"Of which there are few."

It's like a game. Who can our-snark the other? Who'll win the battle of the b***h? And I love every second because the fire she gets in her eyes is sexy as hell.

"I'm the best kind of gentleman, darlin'. I'm polite in public and filthy in private."

Somewhere along the way, she became more than a prize. She became a gift - to me, from me.

1.0 out of 5 stars It's been awhile since I rated a book 1 star and I HATE doing it 3 February 2015

Ugh, this pains me. It's been awhile since I rated a book 1 star and I HATE doing it, but there were so many things wrong with this book that I'm shocked I finished it. Number one problem: The editing. Normally I can overlook certain things, but this was so bad, I just...I don't know what to say. The same exact sentence was repeated over and over again. I don't know if the wrong version of the book was uploaded or if the editor didn't know what they were doing, but it's bad. But beyond that, I hated the characters and the story. Corey came across as such a jerk and then switched to insta-love so fast that i had whiplash. But he was actually a more redeemable character than Leah. She was just so back and forth and annoying. I don't know why ANYBODY would like her. I don't think I've ever hated a heroine the way I did Leah. Overall I just found the story to be really boring and I wasn't impressed. I've been wanting to read a book by Emma Hart for a while, because I see them recommended all the time, but I disliked this one so much I doubt I'll read another.

5.0 out of 5 stars ~ 5 Dirty Mouth Stars ~ 13 January 2015

What can I say…..I LOVED this book!!! Blindsided was a fun, sexy, and entertaining story with lovable characters and a great storyline. I knew going in I was going to love this book because it is written by Emma Hart and she is one of my ALL TIME favorite authors. I honestly thought she couldn't create a better Hero then The Stone Men in the Call/Wild Series, but I was wrong. She created Corey Jackson!!! He is everything I love in a Hero. He was sweet, yet cocky, lovable, yet arrogant, and the best of all he is a cowboy from Texas who plays football!!!!

I loved that this story is told in Dual POV. I always love getting both sides to the story. The writing, as usual is flawless and flowed perfectly. This is the first book in a New Series by Emma and I truly can't wait to read the rest of the books. This book is a standalone. She gave us a complete story with a great ending!!! I am hoping the next book might be about Cole or Jack and Macey.

In Blindsided we meet Corey Jackson and Leah Veronica. Corey is a big time quarterback for the LA Vipers. He is cocky, arrogant and a huge player. He runs into Leah at a bar and is instantly intrigued. Leah of course knows all about this 'player' and isn't falling for his lines of bull. What happens next is a funny, sexy and highly entertaining game of cat and mouse. I loved Leah. She is a strong, independent woman who is making a name for herself. She was someone who definitely gives as good as she got. The banter between Corey and Leah had me laughing so many times, but the chemistry was off the charts HOT!!!! You are going to want to meet these two characters.

The secondary characters were just as great as Corey and Leah. I loved Leah's mom and great aunt Ada. I laughed so hard when I read the conversations between Leah and Ada. She also had amazing friends…. Ryann, Macey, and Cole. They are the type of friends everyone wants to have. Even Corey's friends, Reid and Jack were great. I am truly hoping all the friends get their own books in this series.

So if you are looking for a fun, sexy and entertaining love story with a Cocky Hero and a Strong heroine, then this is the book for you. If you are a fan of Emma's then you don't want to miss this new series!!!! It's off to a great start :)

Review for Ramblings From This Chick. ramblingsfromthischick.blogspot.com

Blindsided is the first book in Emma Hart's new By His Game series, with each book being a standalone story. I have really loved everything that I have read by her, so I couldn't wait to read about her newest couple. Especially since I am a huge sports romance fan, and the hero is a football player. That being said, this book was not my favorite of hers. While I liked it and it was a good read, I did have some problems with this book.

Leah Veronica is the daughter of Hollywood's It girl, and does her best to avoid being in the spotlight. Corey Jackson is the It guy of football as the quarterback for the L.A. Vipers. When they meet, sparks immediately fly between them. While Corey wants nothing more than to get Leah in his bed, she is not going to be just another one night stand for him. But the harder Corey tries, the more Leah seems to be resistant to the idea. Soon Corey will do anything to make her his, and he begins to realize that Leah is more than just the next girl he wants in his bed. But can he convince her to give them a real shot when all she knows is the reputation he has in the media? And what happens when Leah's identity as the new It girl in the fashion world is leaked after she worked so hard to keep it a secret?

I had a few issues with both Corey and Leah. Corey was a bit of a jerk for a good chunk of this book, and he was beyond cocky. He was completely arrogant and not in a so confident its hot kind of way. The kind that makes you want to tell him where he can shove it. He was also really possessive. He just met her and barely knows her, and yet he is all about claiming her as his. It might have been better had he worked up to that, but it was instant. Which was also confusing considering the fact that he kept saying he just wanted to have sex with her to get it out of his system. So which is it, is she his or does he just want to hit it and quit it? Leah also had some things about her that annoyed me. She constantly pushed him away and wanted him to work for it, but then she would easily give in when he got physical with her. She also repeatedly told him to leave her alone or go away and then was upset and even mad at him for listening to her. I wanted her to make up her mind and stick to it. I just never really felt the connection develop between these two with all the push and pull, though I did feel like they were good for one another. But I would have liked to see something actually happen to make them closer rather than just the constant back and forth.

Another problem I had with this book was Leah's secret. I felt like it was pretty anticlimactic. Corey said she was pretty much hiding in plain sight, and he was absolutely right. It just felt like she used it as a crutch to push him away and I didn't think it was nearly as big of a deal as she made it out to be. But the worst thing about it was how she handled things when the truth was revealed. She treated Corey so horribly that I lost so much respect for her. She wouldn't give him a chance to explain after she immediately assumed the worst about him. It really bothered me considering the fact that both Corey and her friend Cole had just been victims of hacking and had their secrets/private details exposed by complete strangers. Why didn't she ever consider that the same might have happened to her and at least allowed Corey a chance to talk to her. Then Corey gets his sister to try and prove to Leah that he wasn't involved and he doesn't even really get mad that she accused him of leaking it or the fact that she didn't allow him to explain. It honestly didn't work for me at all, and it really felt forced. As though the author was trying to inject more drama and conflict into the story. While it sounds like I didn't like this book, I actually did. Despite those issues, I did think that this book had its enjoyable moments. I really loved the secondary characters and enjoyed seeing them interact with both Corey and Leah. I am excited to see more of them as the series progresses. I just wish that we had been given more of Corey and Leah's relationship actually happening rather than them just fighting things and the constant push and pull. For me while Emma Hart's writing was good, the story just fell flat compared to previous books I have read of her. If you are looking for hot football hero and a feisty heroine, you might give this one a shot.
