I loved the writing style and the characters grew on me but i am still unsure whether i care enough to continue reading about them.
In it, there's this scene where Brad De Luca, Cole's lawyer is one the phone with Cole, and rather scathingly tells him "I've made my wife come three times so far this morning, so get your ass out of bed and be productive". That's the kind of work ethic I could get behind. Not Brad, I don't want to get behind him, I don't swing that way, but … you get it.
It turns out though, that Brad isn't just a secondary character in Hollywood Dirt. Before that, he was the main man in Blindfolded Innocence, and being intrigued, I read it.
Told primarily from the point of view of Julia, a brand new intern at the law offices of Clarke, De Luca & Broward who is warned, repeatedly and emphatically to stay away from the hot, intense, shameless womanizer, as if that was ever going to happen.
Right from the start, there are a series of not remotely subtle hints that Julia's story, despite all her affirmations that she's a “good girl”, is headed in directions that are decidedly unconventional, ultimately because Brad himself is anything but vanilla. So if unconventional isn't to your taste, this might not be the book for you.
A journey of discovery and self realization, at times sensually erotic and others deeply introspective, I found it to be a great read and enjoyed every moment (particularly that one scene with Montana ;) )
I highly recommend it
Julia Campbell is a twenty one year old intern that is trying to escape her stalking ex-boyfriend. She knew it wasn't working and broke up, quit her job and moved apartments to start fresh. Julia applied as an intern at the renowned firm, Clarke, De Luca and Broward. A highly successful law firm that is highly sought after in both interns and women.
Julia was excited to be accepted as an intern and partnered with Kent Broward. Everybody was warning her against Brad De Luca. De Luca is known for his womanising ways and from past experience with interns, they keep the ladies away from him. Broward is known for being a tough lawyer, but a very good mentor, Julia couldn't have asked for a better internship.
Julia is warned numerously that she MUST stay away from De Luca, but he has other plans. Broward goes out of town on business and Julia finds a file sitting on her desk that belongs to De Luca. What will she do with it? Return it of course. Heading across the hall to De Luca's wing, Julia is astonished by the fun environment. She returns the file and De Luca spots her quickly, apparently mistaking her for somebody else.
De Luca is a divorce lawyer and brings in the highest clientele numbers and dollars. But he is also known to offer other services to his women clients. De Luca is an enigma, women can't help but be attracted to his arrogance and male presence. He is also determined to have lunch with Julia that is apparently a tradition with all the interns. Really??
Sneaky De Luca wheedles his way in and they lunch. One thing leads to another and they head to Vegas for a weekend of fun and pampering. Julia is expecting BIG things from the weekend and he shows Julia what he is good at..... **clears throat**
Julia has very strong principles and will only sleep with a man that could be the one and that she loves. De Luca certainly doesn't fit that bill, but slowly he convinces Julia that there is a possibility for intimacy without love.
After the weekend, they make a deal to never speak of Vegas and ignore each other at the office. De Luca doesn't seem to be able to hold up his end of the bargain though and becomes very jealous; he won't even allow another man to befriend Julia.
Will they get together? What about their working relationship? Will Julia get dismissed? Will Julia agree to De Luca's intimacy ideals? Will they fall in love?
I certainly cannot wait to read Masked Innocence and see where they go, will they have a relationship or won't Julia be able to handle what De Luca needs? Their attraction can certainly not be questioned, but would it last? Fabulous characters and growth by both main characters. De Luca has to compromise, as does Julia. I highly recommend Blindfolded Innocence to all adult romance readers that like spice and tension.

Any who, I think this book brings a new aspect to the whole genre. The theme is different to what I have read from before, it is about swingers yes, but it is introduced near the end of the book. For me this was about our main character; Julia, discovering herself and her attraction to this man who is so complex and different to what she’s usually used to in a man. It was quite interesting to see her experience this whole different world which is sure to rock her off her feet. I mean how would it be possible for her to return to her normal life after Brad De Luca?
This book was very entertaining for me. I highly enjoy Alessandra’s writing. I don’t know, there’s always something about it that grips me and intrigues. It’s definitely a page turner. I cannot lie that even though some concepts in this book I had to disagree with, I still managed to enjoy and in fact I found it quite difficult to put it down. I think the credit definitely goes to good, balanced writing and also I was just really interested in how the story would turn out. It’s theme is quite different so I never really knew what to expect. I kept expecting different things to happen, but it turned out as a good surprise in the end. I thought it would be similar to other office intern romances but I was frankly quite wrong. It was very different. But in a good way of course.
If you’re a fan of the genre and want to read something a little unique then go ahead! With that note I shall end this review.
I have only just come across this author but believe me I am so happy, her writing is right up my street & keeps me hooked into the early hours...... I’m on to the next in the series & can’t wait!
Would highly recommend any book from this author, especially this one!
Brad De Luca is a partner in the law firm and luckily for Julia she isn't working under him. His reputation is bad, bad enough that Julia is warned by her boss, to stay away from the East Wing and not have any involvement with Brad De Luca. Well it doesn't take long for Julia to catch Brad's eye, and the sparks do fly. Both are hot headed and opinionated and Julia has no interest being another notch on Brad's bedpost. It doesn't take long for Brad to test Julia's resolve and change her opinion on sex only being part in a loving relationship. And things take a complete turn on a trip to Vegas and too much Tequila and a dancer named Montana and this is long before Brad decides to divulge his sexual preferences to Julia. A good read, lots of sexual tension and some pretty hot scenes.
