Product Description

Liz Flowers has never enjoyed Christmas, but this one is shaping up to be the worst by far. She let her ex take her daughter to Mexico while she stays behind in a strange town, sitting her former mother-in-law’s high strung little dog. It’s an opportunity to meet new people, but this California girl doesn’t have much in common with the ranchers in small town Marietta.

Blake Canon perks up with male interest when he sees a new face at his friend’s Christmas cocktail party. His son is away and a light affair would take his mind off his financial troubles. Then he realizes he knows Liz. She was once married to the brother of his ex-wife.

Their children might be cousins, but Blake and Liz do the kissing—under the mistletoe. It’s the beginning of a new view of Christmas for Liz, but when their children arrive home unexpectedly, and family secrets are revealed, Liz isn’t sure she’ll stay in Marietta for Christmas after all.

A cute holiday story about two people finding love where they least expected it.

Liz Flowers has gotten stuck at her former mother-in-law's house taking care of her dog while the rest of the family goes to Mexico for Christmas. She meets Blake Canon at a Christmas party and they hit it off really well. Little does she know they were once related through her ex-husband.

Liz has never been a big fan of Christmas. Will Blake be able to show her the spirit of the holiday?

This was a fun book to read and had some laughable moments thrown in. It is a great book to get ready for the upcoming holidays.

I really loved this story. Definitely got me in the Christmas spirit.
Liz and Blake were great characters and their children were wonderful. I loved how they always put their children first and were so honest about all of the raw emotions surrounding their exes (who happened to be brother and sister). Their bonding over each of their failed marriages to the same family was sweet, funny, and heartwarming. I can't say enough good things about this book, and I don't want to spoil the ending for anyone either. This was a wonderful story and I didn't want it to end.

I loved Blame The Mistletoe! It's got everyone a Christmas romance could want. Liz and Blake are characters that I warmed to right away. The sparks between them felt genuine, and the comfortable way they slotted in to each other's lives worked beautifully. I found myself cheering them on as they both dealt with their exes, and smiling as they brought their existing children into the relationship. This was an all round heartwarming story!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Holiday Read 5 December 2016
By Deb D - Published on Amazon.com

Blame The Mistletoe by Dani Collins is a fairly short read. This would be a perfect holiday read for those with limited time for reading. Ms Collins has crafted an entertaining holiday read with amazing characters, suspense, humor and sexy bits. Liz and Blake's story is a wonderful holiday read. I enjoyed Blame The Mistletoe and look forward to reading more from Dani Collins in the future. Blame The Mistletoe is book 2 of the Love In Montana Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete story, not a cliff-hanger.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lighthearted, sweet, intelligent, funny, discrete enough and stand alone. 7 December 2016
By Kacmor - Published on Amazon.com

Romance novels are sort of "feel good" fairy tales for grown ups, where all bad situations find solution and the end is always happy. That is, if a novel is written right. This one is done right. Recently, I happened to read a few, that were very bad. So this one is a real treat. We have here a couple, that survived bad divorces. Young teenage children are involved, there are some nasty after-divorce ex's wars, the background is so possible in real life, that it takes a reader deep into a story, before any love action starts developing. All situations are probable enough, the background is real. I appreciate that fact tremendously. Sex is going into more detailes, than I find necessary for this type of story, but is discrete enough to keep it reasonable. I had some good laughter from descriptions of some battle movements between divorced couples.
Both wounded, "good guys" find the way to each other and in the middle of the mayhem, carve a real happiness for themselves, and for their children. And in time for Christmas, too.
The plotting is solid, the heroes are easy to like and the dialogues smoothly flowing.
Overall, a great, solid four stars book. I'm adding an extra star for the clever weaving of this book into a series, while the story is finished. Completed.
My copy had also a short "bonus gift" love story, that was written with same good standards. Very appreciated.
This author is worth remembering.

5.0 out of 5 stars Christmas Romance! 11 December 2014

A fun and great story in time for Christmas! Liz Flowers agrees to take care of her ex's mothers dog in a strange town of Marietta while he takes their daughter to Mexico, since she don't care for Christmas much anyways. In an attempt to meet new people she goes to cocktail party bump into a familiar face, Blake is happy to find out they may have more then ex family in common. Secrets come out as they get closer together, the mistletoe magic happens. A romantic happy ending for all this Christmas!
Though this story had a lot of Ex's it was easy to read and keep them straight. I thought they were lovable and well developed. A great start to another great series! with laugh-out-loud moments!

4.0 out of 5 stars A little awkward but a great romance read 8 December 2016

I read this as part of an anthology previously so I'd give this particular story roughly 3.5 stars

Blake and Liz had a somewhat awkward connection that bothered me a little initially because they had both married siblings. He married her ex husbands sister and vice versa. It was a little icky when put in terms of her daughter and his son being cousin/step-siblings. I thought I would be too grossed out to enjoy it but found myself OK with it because both characters were adorable together and deserved happiness after what they went through.

Blame The Mistletoe was sweet and romantic. I'm a big fan of Collins' writing style so if you can get past the slightly awkward connection between this couple you'll enjoy this one too.
4.0 out of 5 stars fun read 10 January 2017

Blame the Mistletoe: Love in Montana, Book 2 is by Dani Collins. It is a cute book about love.
Liz Flowers had found herself in Marietta housesitting for her ex-Mother-in-Law while the family flew to a tropical wedding. She had divorced her husband and she and her mother ran a series of salons in California. She was in management so could take time off. She had brought her daughter Petra to Montana to attend her Father’s tropical wedding and found herself housesitting over Christmas. Now she was at a party with people she really didn’t know. Then a man comes up to her and calls her “Auntie Liz” and she recognizes him as her nephew’s father. Blake Canon had married Liz’s ex-husband’s sister and they were now divorced too. Blake had a ranch near the Flower’s house and had let his son, Ethan, go to the tropics with the wedding party for the month of December. With Blake’s help introducing her to people, she had a good time. When it came time to leave, the hostess gave her lots of leftovers to take home. Liz protested as she was walking home. Blake offered to give her a ride so she could take her share of the leftovers and besides, it was snowing. Thus, they began spending time together and were eventually snowed in during a blizzard. Can they take time out of their lives to have a fling that no one would know about?
