This is the first book I have read by this author and I enjoyed it. An easy read reminded me of Debbie Macomber. Going to read the next book in this series to see how these characters progress.

Easy Read; Overall Enjoyable

I recently found RaeAnne Thayne and am quickly devouring her books. The first few I read were from the Haven Point series. After a couple of books there I realized there was some overlap with this series and that one, and started from the beginning. I read the book in a couple of days. Its a great easy read, RaeAmme does a great job of building the tension and romance of a relationship. There is Claire the divorced, single mom, who seems to focus so much on being a mom and helping everyone, she sort of forgot what it was like to be a woman. Then you have the sexy and a couple years younger, Riley. The younger brother to her best friend who had pretty much been in love with her his whole life. She did a beautiful job of crafting a relationship where Claire finally sees Riley as a man and not her friends kid brother. Not to mention the tragedy in the town and she clearly is laying the foundation for future novels.
The only draw back I have, is the story felt cut short. The first few books I read by this author, I felt like you didn't have to read the stories in order. Yes there are overlapping characters and certain events, but you could read one and understand what you needed to know. This one left some questions at the end. It felt unresolved. Will Claire ever finally stand up to her mother? What is going on with Riley's job? What does the ex and the kids think of all this? What about Charlie and the charges? I am hoping those answers will be given to me in the next book, but a little disappointed not in this one. The ending just felt abrupt, like an epilogue was missing
