Product Description

Nothing like an unconscious doppelgänger to ruin a perfectly good day at the Mystery Spot.

Robyn Craine has two loves: her Harley and the Mystery Spot, the Black Hills tourist attraction she bought with funds from her late mother’s estate, an inheritance that included a generous gift from billionaire Harold Hopewell. With a chance-of-a-lifetime expansion in the works, Robyn doesn’t have time to babysit the handsome Sentinel Passtime actor who shows up to do “research”--especially when she figures out his connection to the wealthy businessman/politician trying to sabotage her new project.

Liam Temple has no intention of falling for a Black Hills local. His agent has Liam’s breakout, big budget movie deal lined up. Even though Liam likes his current Sentinel Passtime gig, he promised his late sister he’d win a Golden Globe by thirty-five. The last thing he needs is the distraction of a feisty, Harley-riding tourist trap owner caught in Liam’s father’s crosshairs for buying a hunk of land Richard Marston thinks belongs to him. But when Robyn’s doppelgänger stunt double is attacked, Liam recognizes his father’s MO and Liam has no choice but to make keeping Robyn safe his first priority.

Black Hills Legacy is the tenth book in Debra Salonen's Hollywood Meets The Real Wild West series but is also part of the multi-author Inheritance series. It is easy to read and enjoyable in its own right though reading other books in either series will help with context.
Debra Salonen is one of those trustworthy authors who always delivers a good story and she certainly met my expectations with this one. The pace was fast and there were plenty of plot twists to keep me interested.
This story hinges around the South Dakota town of Sentinal Pass, home to the TV show Sentinal Passtime. The focus is on Robyn Craine, new owner of The Mystery Spot and recipient of a sizeable inheritance from billionaire Harold Hopewell after her mother's death. Love interest Liam Temple is a star in the show and son of wealthy developer and would be politician Richard Marston, who wants a block of land that Robyn has recently bought.
All the characters in this story are well developed and believable and I couldn't help but cheer on Liam and Robyn as they worked out how to have a life together. I thoroughly enjoyed this story.

My first Salonen book was thoroughly enjoyable. I already have another one to read. I loved the characters. They were warm, unreliable and genuine. The setting was new to me and interesting. I know nothing about the Dakotas. The plot line was intriguing and different. A great read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Spirits are alive....... 19 April 2017

ARC copy for honest review with no compensation

Black Hills Legacy is part of two different series, Black Hills Rendezvous (Hollywood meets the real wild west) by Debra Salonen and The Inheritance by multiple authors. Both series are awesome.
This book is about Robyn Craine, who has purchased the Mystery Spot and surrounding area after her mother passed away and she found out that her mother was given a sizeable inheritance by none other than billionaire Harold Hopewell so she wants to use the funds to expand her business along with having a TV show tape on the grounds.

Liam Temple, the TV show Sentinel Passtime’s law man and also the son of Richard Marston, a wealthy real estate developer who is using his son to get Robyn to sell him the land next to the Mystery Spot. What nobody knows is that 20 plus years ago something happened on that land and Richard doesn’t want anyone to find out about…..so he will do what he has to do to get the land. When Robyn and Liam meet about the show and the love interest in the show the sparks start flying but Robyn doesn’t know that Liam is Richard’s son.

As the story continues the plot thickens and so many different things start to happen at once ….. you start rooting for Robyn and Liam to solve the mystery of the land and to find their HEA together…..but… will Richard do something extreme that makes everything fall apart?????

Once you start reading you won’t want to put it down until the last word is read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fast-paced, highly recommended read. 19 April 2017
By Whenwe - Published on Amazon.com

I received an Advanced Reader Copy and this is a voluntary review.
Sentinel Pass is a South Dakota town that is the home of "Sentinel Passtime", a TV show. After her mother's death, Robyn receives a considerable inheritance which had been left, in turn, to her mother by Harold Hopewell, a billionaire she had nursed.
Richard Marston, a wealthy developer and aspirant senator wants the parcel of land that Robyn bought with her inheritance. He sends his son, Liam, local heart-throb and star of "Sentinel Passtime", to broker the deal.
Much excitement follows Robyn's refusal to sell and the blossoming relationship between her and Liam is put to the test.
This is a fast-paced story that gripped me from the word "go" and I couldn't bear to put it down until I was finished. A highly recommended read and can be read as a stand-alone novel or as part of the "Black Hills Legacy", of which it is the tenth book.
