So, I was reluctant continuing reading her stuff but I said why not. I am so happy I did. I just love Mac and can't wait for the next book.
Mac and her asskickery is so damn entertaining and her pranks are legendary. Ooh Drakon absolutely swoonworthy. His murdery personality is just dark and yummy. I can't wait for what lies ahead. We are guaranteed action, suspense and frustration but I am going enjoy it.
Highly recommended to those who enjoy quick easy read about a world filled with party witches, scary bad guys that keep getting away, sexual tension that will set your panties alight, and cute animal counterparts.
(To truly enjoy reading this series start from the beginning of shadow guild with the rebel. Learning to know each character creates a wonderful bond)
My only gripe (and it's a pernickety one) if the characters are British they wouldn't use American words, such as Mom and couch. The use of Mom really took me out of it for a moment as it just isn't correct for the UK and to me, a British reader, it's an obvious mistake.
If you've decided to base your stories / characters in a certain place which clearly isn't where you are from, you probably should do your homework on their language and adjust accordingly.
With that gripe off my chest, I really did enjoy this story and hope the next one is as good.
5 stars - less than a day to read because I cannot put it down. I only give 5 stars if it has managed to engage extra emotions from me - extreme lol moments or real teary moments etc. A 5 stars book tends to have me raging about cliff hangers and (legally and not creepily) stalking the author for release dates.
4 stars - 2 days to read or less. A book that I have quite enjoyed reading, feisty MC and some racy scenes with thier romantic interest. I would definitely follow a series and author for 4 star books.
3 stars - takes around 2/3 days to read, usually because I have become distracted and less engaged in some sections but by the end the end I have enjoyed the overall story and would read any sequels.
1/2 stars not given, as I have usually returned it without finishing as I'm not engaged. .
