Another wonderful book by the authorReviewed in the United Kingdom on 1 May 2020
From Galilee to Jersalem, from Arabia to Israel, from frredom to trial in Rome, from the wonderful experience of Pentecost to exexution, the story follows Arnon, Fara, Voldi, and most importanrly Peter (The Big Fisherman) as they hear the words and see the actions of Jesus, as his words take hold in men’s hearts and minds. Many words from the New Testament are quoted, including many of the events in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus, and also flashbacks to people and events in The Robe. A fantastic story which I have already read (in the printed word) several times, and now in a digital form. I have no doubt I shall read it again many times.
Wonderful and convincing story telling of the highest calibreReviewed in the United Kingdom on 9 April 2015
Wonderful and convincing story telling of the highest calibre. I loved every minute of reading this fabulous book and wish the author had written far more books than he did. This is one of those books you want to read at each stage of your life, as its material richly connects with your own experiences and rings true and as cleR as a bell. I am looking forwRd to meeting the author in heaven and hope he keeps writting forever! I look forwRd to an eternity of p,easier able reading of his work.

Wonderful emotive story tellingReviewed in the United Kingdom on 1 December 2010
This and the Robe are classics. The story is about Jesus and his life, its creative and brilliantly written - This and the Robe are masterful novels that bring the characters to life and leaves you with many deeper emotions. As with the Robe it brings in a time of history that is alive and fascinating. It's not a religious book it's a wonderful story about a man that changed our planets history. The colourful characters in the sub plot and the attention to detail throughout makes this an absorbing and masterful creation of a novel - Lloyd C Douglas is a master story teller.

The Big FishermanReviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 December 2015
I gave it only 4 stars as it wasn't pointed out explicitely I didn't realise this book is of unusual size. I should have checked the diamentions before buying but I was expected a regular book. This one is wider than usual so it makes reading more difficult. Otherwise the book highly recommended!
... this first over fifty years ago so it was good to catch up with a modern editionReviewed in the United Kingdom on 23 July 2014
Read this first over fifty years ago so it was good to catch up with a modern edition. Now realise that historical accuracy is not this novel's strongest point but it is still a 'rollicking' good story based on a brave concept of trying to imagine Simon Peter's reactions to meeting and then following Jesus.
