Product Description

Are you being bullied at work? Big Bad Bully is a practical guide for people faced with workplace bullying. Big Bad Bully describes how to recognize bullying, how to positively respond to workplace bullying and how to report bullying behaviour while considering the feelings of the victim, the arbitrator and the bully themselves. When faced with workplace bullying, victims can be, understandably, reactive and emotional. Big Bad Bully specifically focuses on how to reduce the negative feelings associated with bullying by empowering victims through information on how to address poor behavior.
This guide offers suggested information on what steps to take once an incident of bullying has occurred and how to positively manage each act of workplace bullying through practiced responses. Big Bad Bully is an easy to use guide with over 100 different, real life incidents. It outlines how to respond to workplace bullying, what steps to take, and how to bring about change through conversation reporting.

Wow! What an interesting take on workplace bullying. I think this text will not only assist victims to have the confidence to respond to workplace bullying positively, but will also assist managers to rethink their response to workplace bullying. The rehearsed responses are brilliant. Locating workplace bullying as a health and safety issue is absolutely appropriate. Love it!

I have dealt with a bully at work for a few years. I stood up for myself and he slowly backed down. Recently I was awarded a promotion over him, and his bully behavior has again reared its ugly head. As someone interested in solutions and fair management, I bought this book, so I can appropriately resolve the situation. Reading this book, they almost describe the bully behavior perfectly, as if it was written about my co-worker. But, this isn't just a book about bullying, but about how to properly manage bullying situations, without becoming a bully yourself. Before reading this book, I was dreading being bullied by this co-worker. Now, I feel empowered. I have more clarity on how to properly address the situation, without injecting my own emotions, which could make me look even worse. I now feel that future bullying is an opportunity for personal growth as a leader, and to help provide a safer environment at my workplace. If your dealing with a workplace bully, I highly recommend this book. Everyone has the right to a safe workplace, free of not just physical threats, but also psychological threats.

*update* I have already used the lessons in this book to properly address harrassment. Not only am I more confident standing up for myself, I am also improving my own behavior. The negativity and gossip at my workplace are out of control, and I have made a self pledge to avoid joining in. This book is life changing
