I wish that this book existed 20 years ago when we started our retail MagicLegends.com website, and years earlier when we were opening our retail Magic Stores. After 20 years with the same web host and web site design, we are just in the process of greatly expanding and performing a major overhaul of our web site, and this book will certainly come in handy to improve our business and customer experience!!! Although the cover says "7", the amount of great business advice contained in this book is endless. "Beyond Your Logo" is an essential book that belongs in every business library, and especially important for any new businesses just starting. "Branding" is more than just a catch phrase, and Elaine Fogel really knows what she is talking about. This book will take you step-by-step through the process of organizing your business and creating your "Brand", which adds a great deal more to a business than selling great products or services. Elaine Fogel should be considered a "Branding" Magician, and truly creates a Magical Experience with "Beyond the Logo"!!!

You can't turn over a rock these days without finding someone talking about "branding." Most of them make it a mystery. Elaine Fogel makes it simple. If you are just starting out, this book will help you organize your business so that your every move says something about you that your customers like. If you're a going concern, read this book for the helpful reminders and for the exhaustive lists of actions you can take to improve. Nonprofit organizations can also learn from this book. By remembering that your "customers" include both your funders and your clients, you can translate Elaine's advice and use it for your work.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading “Beyond your Logo.” Make sure you have a note pad nearby, because your to-do list is about to get a little longer. If there was a required reading list for new entrepreneurs (or those who aren’t doing well and can’t understand why), this book should be on it. Elaine covers a lot of territory and provides a lot of additional resources.
If I’ve learned anything in my 25+ years in sales, marketing and fundraising, it’s that 1: you live or die by your brand and it’s a lot more than just your name and logo and 2: it’s never too late to learn something new. If you work for a non-profit like I currently do, buy this book and do a mental find-and-replace. Substitute volunteer for employee and donor or client for customer and you’ll be surprised how relevant this book is.
Or don’t buy this book and let someone else eat your lunch. Happy Wednesday!

Elaine does an excellent job of explaining that in a smart, approachable, and easy to understand way that is so valuable for any current or future business owner to hear. Many marketing books are pedantic, but this one is conversational in tone and it's hard to get past a page without encountering an idea worth considering.
