Product Description

The witch who started it all finally tells her story as Morna’s Legacy Series continues in Love Beyond Reach by USA TODAY Bestselling Author Bethany Claire.

A Love Story for The Centuries

All Morna Conall wants is freedom—freedom to practice and learn about the magic inside her. Perhaps then her world wouldn’t feel so small. When she finds the spell books and journals of an old mentor, Morna believes she’s found the key to her happiness, but when she crosses paths with an injured man in need of help, her plans are derailed. As she spends more time with the strange but alluring man, her dreams change. Maybe magic isn’t the only thing capable of expanding her world.

Jerry never expected anything other than an ordinary existence. When he wakes one morning to find himself in a different century, he embarks on one of the most baffling and difficult years of his life. He spends every day searching for a way to return home, but when the only person he believes can help him perishes in a fire, he worries he will be trapped in the past forever. His hope returns when a beautiful lass offers him aid, but with each passing day, he finds himself less sure of his desire to return home. The witch occupies his every thought. If she does find a way to send him home, it will mean leaving his heart hundreds of years in the past.

As they confess their love for one another, a shared acquaintance from their past plots against them. Will their love be enough to fight the magic that seeks to break them, or will another become the ruler of their lives?

I have enjoyed this series so far. I was not sure to start with on Morna's story, but quickly became engrossed. I now have a plan to go back and start at the beginning of the series and read them all again to recoup the memory of each one

Great, great story. It was even better than I expected. This is Morna and Jerry’s story. At the beginning of this book you find out Morna has written her story for the next young woman she wants to help find her true love in the past. However, the story is only from her perspective. Therefore, Jerry writes the story from his perspective. Then the two are put together with “notes” from Morna placed at different parts of the story. Morna and Cooper place the book where the young woman will find the book and read it. There are memorable characters—her brother Alasdair (so supportive of Morna’s magic), her sister-in-law (her friend), her father (unlikable until near the end), and Mary (her closest friend and like a sister). True love doesn’t always run smoothly and Morna and Jerry’s story is no different. They had to overcome many challenges, but were able to finally find their happily-ever-after. I can’t say enough good things about this book. I loved it from beginning to end and loved finding out how it all began. I would recommend this story to everyone. In fact, I enjoyed it so much that I plan on going back to read the previous 7 books in this series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Morna's Story was Definitely Worth Waiting For 31 May 2017

OMG - After reading the previous 7 books in the series where Morna is a old woman who loves to make matches across time we now have the origin story. How Morna met Jerry, where she came from, and why Jerry is so insistent on mot being spelled.
Bethany Claire does an amazing job of bringing Morna's story to life. It is written as a book that Morna has written for a woman in the present to help her make the decision to go back in time to find love. In addition to Morna's original text, the book is peppered with additional notes from Morna as well as additions from Jerry telling his point of view..
If you haven't read this series, you won't miss anything by starting with this book however, beware - it might make you want to go back and read the other 7 books in this series.
Bravo to Bethany Claire - this book has been a long time coming but it was definitely worth the wait.

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally we get to see more of the beginning of Morna & Jerry's love story. 3 June 2017

I Love the relationship/bond between Alasdair and Morna! Everyone needs an Alasdair in their corner!!!

Morna has a person she wants to help so she worked for months writing down her life story of being mentored by another witch to learn how to be one herself. Her brother was supportive but her father did everything he could to thwart her learning. He even banished her teacher to shut down her learning. It worked for a few years but Morna finds her mentor's journals and starts reading and learning again.

There are all kinds of family dynamics depicted in the story. Morna's father seems to be the worst kind of father to her, but then they have a conversation that seems to right all the wrongs of the past. Morna's brother Alasdair is the big brother who everyone needs in their corner. Awesome relationship there! Mary is the best kind of friend to have as well.

Jerry offers the kind of love that satisfies the soul.

There are problems that have to be faced and worked out, people who seem to be something they truly are not, and hidden agendas that have to be discovered, but it is a fun ride to the finish of the story. Well worth the read!

First let me say I have loved every book in this series until now . I read Historical romance for various reasons . Primarily for the history, accurate or not . I just love the time frames in which the stories are depicted . Close is good enough. Also , I love being transported to another era without the actual discomfort . They must always end with a HEA ! I read the Epilogue or ending first to avoid a tear jerker .
As this novel began, Morna and Jerry were young . It was very hard for me to imagine them so . Additionally, Jerry has always appeared to me as Milton Milktoast . As a younger man , Jerry is still pale in comparison to the woman he loves . It blows my mind how he could evoke such strong feelings from Morna for him . She needed a personality much like Hamish's . She may have been spelled from conception. The old Jerry was always Morna 's go-fer . A vibrant, passionate, sexy young male ? Pshaw ! Never !
Then quickly I add Elspth's death ( unnessary ), the fake death of Morna and Grier's curse to Jerry and Morna in the last chapter ! These all detracted and prevented a HEA for me .
My last comment has to do with the entrance of Grier . The first few chapters I did not remember her or her relationship to Morna . Then as I continued to read the fog s-l-o-w-l-y lifted but not fast enough . I would have been better off to read book seven before this one . Then no confusion as to the twisted feelings Grier/Morna had for each other. Morna's father was correct in not allowing his daughter learn anymore magic . It was not the magic he objected to but quite possibly the instructor.

What an amazing book/series!! To be able to finally see it from Mora and Jerry's point of view was great. Most love stories don't go smoothly, and this one had quite a few different things thrown into it. And to be able to see why these people and Conall castle mean so much to her. I love Cooper to death and was so happy that he was included in this. This will not disappoint you it has love it has grief it has magic! Are you ready to take a trip through time!!! What an amazing read!!
