Don't Miss Book 4 in Morna's Legacy Series of Scottish Time Travel Romance Novels by USA TODAY Bestselling Author, Bethany Claire

What is life worth without the love you’re meant for?

Sent to the brink of death by his own brother’s blade, Eoghanan McMillan clings to the brief moments he spends in the shadows, watching from afar the beautiful lass he’s never met. He spends his time some four centuries after his birth, slowly building his strength so that he may return home, but each glimpse into the woman’s life leaves him wanting. He wants nothing more than to know her…

When Grace Mitchell’s job as a photojournalist sends her to Scotland with her young son, Cooper, in tow, her greatest wish is to escape from the aftermath of the wedding she abandoned. Instead, her life complicates further when she meets the mysterious, scarred, and alluring Eoghanan McMillan – a man so unlike any she’s ever known. She falls for him quickly but, after a spell sends them back in time to the seventeenth century, Grace is forced to accept the amazing truth about the man she’s just beginning to know and to re-think the life she had planned for herself.

Will their love for one another be enough to make Grace stay in a time so different from her own – a decision that will alter the direction of her young son’s life entirely? Or will she sacrifice a future with the man she loves to give her son a life of normalcy? In the end, she may just learn that the decision isn’t hers to make.

4.0 out of 5 stars So good, but one thing bothered me... 25 July 2014

This entire series is absolutely wonderful! This is the fourth book in the series and deals with Eoghanan - Eo as most of the characters call him. We see him work through some rough issues with his family in the first couple books and it was great to see him finally find love. The book was really fast paced, the characters were interesting and I really liked it. The only problem I had with this book, and the reason I only gave it 4 stars, is that the female character is just this random person from the 21st century. She doesn't have any ties to the other folks who've all traveled back, and it makes me wonder why the author is making Morna both a witch and a fortune teller basically. Also, Grace has a family in the 21st century and even though they don't get along the greatest, it makes me sad to see that a character would just ditch their family and basically make the family think that they are dead. I wish their was someway they could resolved that because now her family is going to think she has disappeared, they will never see their grandson/nephew again, and her best friend Jeffrey's family will never see him again. I hope that in the next book some of that gets resolved because I hate the thought of suffering families (and yes I realize this is a piece of fiction but i'm invested in this family for goodness sakes!).

Grace is not married but has a son and a best friend Jeffery who, for all who know the situation, is his father but they are not married. Moran of course calls Grace and son Conner to Scotland on a rouse using a job she set up. To meet EOY short for his to hard to pronounce name. E O for short has been at her house from the 17th century because his crazy mental brother tried to kill him. She ,Morna is a good which from the same area but living in the 20 century. She runs a bed and breakfast where she tends to her matchmaking business and sends people back and forth in time. EO is a gallant man brother to the lair of the castle. He has been brought up with learning and Grace. He is a big Scotts man but not as big as his brother Baodan. He has red curls and beautiful eyes, that even though He has a long scar down his entire body. Grace doesn't seem to even see it.
Will she go to the 17th century with EO or will she go home to her nasty father who pushes a wedding with JEFFREY ,Whom she loves but is not in love with.

Well looking at my extensive kindle library trying to clean house and get rid of several books on my kindle I happened to find this book, how could I forget this book by Ms. Bethany Claire. I have enjoyed reading the first three books in the Morna legacy why did I even wait this long to read this book well better late than never and no this book is not going to be taken out or discarded. I enjoy Ms. Claire’s deftness in telling a story and her wonderfully three dimensional characters. Ms. Claire has a charming way of telling a story that instantly captivated me! The story despite being part of a series can be read as a standalone has a wonderful pace making it quite a page turner and difficult to put the book down! Yes this is another time travel story which I seriously love reading all time travel stories no matter where or what time period it is in with plot twists, high adventure, magic and romance abound but Ms. Claire brings the reader from present day to 1647 Scotland which I loved the visualization of each place by making both places or times easily imaginable. The closeness and family ties described between all of the Clan McMillan’s just made me feel like I was a part of them too!
Grace receives an assignment to photograph and write a story on Scotland decides to run out on her wedding. She leaves early for Scotland with her son Cooper while there staying at an inn Grace meets the equally mysterious Eoghanan and can’t help but be attracted to him. Eoghanan though has a secret is Grace willing to give up everything for love?
***Minor Spoilers***
I couldn’t help but love all the characters that Ms. Claire wrote about it from Grace, Eoghanan or E-O, Jeffrey, Mitsy, Cooper and Morna. I did wonder though what exactly happens to Grace’s assignment I couldn’t figure out if she ever finished it and was able to get it to her boss. Even though Ms. Claire describes her characters quite fully I could easily imagine Eoghanan I guess one of the hardest things for me I had a hard time imagining was what the scar on Eoghanan looked like the guy just seemed perfect even with the scar. What exactly did Morna use to heal Eoghanan by the way magic or medicine Ms. Claire never explained? How could the time travel not affect Eoghanan causing more injuries to him especially since it was a lot further than he had traveled previously? I am hoping out of this series that Ms. Claire writes more about them and writes about Morna and Cooper too. I still loved the story and will reread it again. That’s why I rated the story four stars, can recommend it and will read more books in the series by Ms. Claire!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good but a bit disappointing. 30 January 2015

I enjoyed this book just like the rest of the series, however of the series it was probably my least favorite. I know all of the books are written from the female's point of view but I would have liked to have seen this from male's since he was the character that we already knew. But I also understood why that author didn't, she would probably have many more reviews wishing it was told from the female POV if she'd switched it up.

I did like how a set of new characters were introduced by the author give herself and us readers plenty for more books in this series. However this is the first time we've had a random new female character introduced (Grace). It still tells the story of love transcending time but all of the other books were for characters that had been background or side character in previous books. I was looking forward to this book so much since in the previous books I felt a deep connection to Eoghanan's (E-o) character. I wanted him to have the best story so far, so perhaps it was a bit of my high expectation that made this book a little of a let down. It just felt a little forced...or maybe "odd" is a better word, a few points in the story.

A big question I had and still have is what about Grace's family still in the present time? I know she wasn't/isn't particularly happy with them or close to them but she still speaks to them. What are they thinking now? That she and her son have just fallen off the face of the earth? It just seems like a bit of a lose end that the author didn't wrap up or just ignored. But perhaps some of these things are touched on in the next book.

I can't help but wonder if Eoghanan's mom and Grace's father figure will end up together. (Fingers crossed)

I naturally gave this book four stars..Again very well rounded storyline, good sensually, but very little violence..The only thing I did not care for was the ending, she left it hanging..Big disappointment..But it has not stop me from buying the next book in the series
