Contending with the ambitions of brother-in-law General Jonathan Bower, head of the Australian military, wanting The Settlement to fall under military control.
In a series of violent confrontations, The Settlement, in very difficult situations, overcomes all challenges and manages to ensure that the military finally falls under civilian control, represented by The Settlement.
About the Author
Born and brought up in Kenya where my parents farmed in the so-called ‘White Highlands’. (Subject of my first novel: ‘No Happy Valley’, part of my ‘Winds of Change’ trilogy. National service in Kenya. I had my nineteenth birthday on the boat going to England where I qualified as a Chartered Accountant. My extensive travels whilst working in South Africa and Botswana with South African Breweries, gave rise to the third title of my ‘Winds of Change’ trilogy, ‘No Peace for the Wicked’. The family migrated to Australia in early 1986. After a spell with Nestle, I joined Harlequin Australia and progressed to run Harlequin’s Asia Pacific operations which included China, where I launched Mills&Boon. I was then made responsible for all of Harlequin’s operations outside North America. Finally, after a brief retirement I was invited back to run Harlequin’s UK operations.
