This had charm. And an excellent romance interest bubbling away. But I felt cheated by the interaction of the heroine and her ex and his mother - I needed a smackdown pay off and instead that appears to have happened off page. What a missed opportunity.
Defiance was awesome and seriously her name is also awesome and her grandmother was amazing. the magical world that Draynda Jones dreamt up is amazing and omg I love the house and the setting and ... oh the swoon-worthy kilt ...lol
A seriously good supernatural story.
Betwixt & Between is fabulous.
Dephne forty + and in her divorce lost everything.
So when she inherits a house , well she must see it.
Then everything she ever knew starts to unravel.
Great read, put it on your must read list.
I found this very enjoyable and relaxing to read.
Waiting impatiently for the next instalment.

The mysterious benefactor is recently deceased Ruthie Goode.
This is an incredibly fun read, with sparky characters, a vastly sexy kilted guy called Roane, a town of odd balls, and the cutest, anti social cat - ever.
There’s are plenty of humorous moments, lots of writing and art ‘in jokes’.
A little joke at the truth of independent writers and artists everywhere here, when Dephne, says “I made custom journals in my spare time, time being a commodity I seemed to have a lot of lately. Those journals made me a solid twelve bucks a month. Can’t shake a stick at that.”
Yes, the life of a writer, or artist, struggling to make a buck.
The book also boasts the best chapter headings, full of memes, dialogue, jokes, sayings; you name it.
I adore this book and can’t wait for the next instalment.
My vagina had never been so insulted in her entire vaginal life!
This new series is great. I'll be buying it in paperback too asap to go in the physical collection of my favourite books.
Wonderful story and characters. The banter is exactly what I expected and enjoyed.
This book is full of surprises. Defiance is such a good and unique character. Can't wait to find out more about her and of course Roane.
What a great cast of characters!
Defiance Dayne recently divorced and destitute...he ex took everything she owned. Just days after the divorce Defiance finds out that she is left a house in Salem, Massachusetts by a complete stranger.
Defiance drives across the US from Arizona to Massachusetts because she has no where else to go.
After the signing of papers Dephne decides to give it 3 days before she hands the house back
She meets a few of her neighbours, one of which gives her a hard time....
The house comes with a cat, Ink, and a handyman, Roane. Defiance thinks the handyman should be a model for GQ....
Things start to get strange when people start knocking on her door wanting her to look for things they have lost...what??
Why do they think Defiance can find the items they have lost?
You have to pick the book up and read it.
This book lived up to expectations! A great new genre with the main characters being women over 40 - what's not to love?
Defiance is in hot water well past her ears when she finds out that she has inherited a house in Salem. With zero ties to hold her back she heads off to find out what is what. And that's where things get interesting.
Loved the book! Well written and the characters are relatable. Although, I really wanted to shake them a couple of times for being so distracted - oooohhh shiney! - but that was part of the charm as well.
I can't wait until the next book in this new series hits Amazon!
Ms. Jones does it again.
