This was the first of the three 'Sex on the Beach' books I have read (whilst linked they can be read as standalones and in any order) and I have to say she has really set the bar with 'Between Us'. Told from both their perspectives, Mackenzie and Austin have a perfect chemistry and go through all the emotions. Well worth reading and I'm off to read Jennifer Probst and Jenna Bennett's series offerings.
Mackenzie is a college student who also happens to a massive country star. Travelling with her college friends she is desperate for romance without having to worry about being recognised. Undercover she meets a tattooed bar man who captures her interest.
Great characters and a fun story.
Mackenzie had it right to be cautious with Austin but what I loved about him was that he owned up to his s*** when he needed to. He also called Mackenzie out a few times to make her go.. Oh.. Ok.. My bad.. She also realized a lot for herself during this week. So it was a week but what I did like was that it was recognized for what it was.. Some serious lust that felt like maybe there's something more maybe a possible connection? So when the story doesn't end after a week and has a little bit more of a realistic feel/time frame to it I LOVED this book even more! Great job with the time frame and development of feelings and characters... Now here's the other thing that I loved.. Austin REFUSED to allow Mackenzie to change her life for him and that made him even more of a man for himself, his sister and Mackenzie! This was the perfect balance between good back story, sex scenes and HEA... If you haven't already get the other two books... I'm going to start with the next one now!
