4.0 out of 5 stars well-written, very romantic, exciting and fun. 9 September 2015
By Veronica Marzini - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
These are four short stories but well-written, very romantic, exciting and fun. The characters are loveable and well-characterized, the plots are well-developed and intriguing.
Driven to Date is the story of Jill and Ryan. Jill is a great lawyer, the work is all her life, has always done her best to achieve her objectives and has never failed. Until her boss's nephew, Ryan, comes to Sacramento and steals her promotion. She had already met and kissed him at a party and discovers that he will also be her new boss is really frustrating. She would like to hate him but her heart doesn't agree. Will Ryan really able to conquer her? I love their dialogues, are really funny, I like so much when he calls her buttercup.
In Up to Date Ginger is an office manager but her real passion is interior decoration. She chose stability and security instead of doing what she loves. For the same reason, she refuses to date with Greg, although she is very attracted to him. He's a doctor, will be always working and will neglect her just as her father did her. Greg will try to make her realize that not all doctors are like her father. Will he win her trust? Greg is really charming, sexy, funny, ironic... He's the ideal guy, you can not help but love him. I love the chemistry between him and Ginger, they are perfect together.
In Déjà Date Melinda offers to replace Bernie in the management of his bakery. She doesn't know that will also have to manage his son Nate, her first love, the one that broke her heart going away without leaving her even a short message. Nate tries to win her back but Melinda is afraid to suffer again, he might go away suddenly breaking again her heart. It's a story fresh, sweet and challenging.
In Date and Dash the protagonist is Mary Ann, sister of Ginger. To a charity auction she wants to win a bracelet that belonged to her grandmother. It's really important but a tamponade prevents her from participating. She asks a friend to make an offer for her but says the wrong number. She wins to partecipate in a reality show for couples: must participate with an unknown bachelor, the couple more in love will win fifty thousand dollars. Her bachelor is Trevor Brooks, the charming guy but very picky with whom she had the collision: he wanted to call the police, causing her to lose the auction. This short story is really fun and funky.
Each book may be enjoyed as a stand alone novel but for more enjoyment read the whole series. I really like that the characters of these books were connected to each other, the protagonist of a story we had already known in the previuos books and will meet again in the next ones. I can not wait to read 1-6 books.
This was my first time reading a book by this author, and I can say with complete certainty that it will not be my last!
I recommend them to those who love sweet romance
I received an advanced reader copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.

4.0 out of 5 stars 4 stand alone books that are fun and entertaining! 23 September 2015
By paula legate - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
I was provided a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This is a series of fun stories, but each book is a stand alone. I find it better to review each book, and my reviews are below.

Driven to Date
Jill had always planned out her life. She has a old crinkled paper with her goals written down that she had written out after high school, that she had in her purse. 1- Graduate college at 21 (Done), 2. Graduate law school at 24 (done) 3. Obtain job at well - established firm (done), 4. Purchase house by 26 (done), 5. Managing position at 29, - 6. Partner at 35 (33, if possible).
Her life is thrown off balance when her law firm gave away her promotion to a nephew of one of the attorney's in the law firm. Jill has worked night and day, and deserved that promotion. When she didn't get the promotion, she realized her life has not been balanced for a very long time. Jill didn't have a social life, she didn't date, she didn't have hobby's. All she ever did was work. Her friend Kristen made her realize there was more to life, than just working.
Kristen made Jill promise to go to her wedding. Jill went to the wedding in a new dress, and ran into some friends. One of her old friends asked if she may be interested in working at her law firm. While they were talking Jill said she was there with a date. Her friend wanted to meet the date, the only problem was Jill came alone. With Jill's quick thinking she walked up to Ryan, (a good looking stranger) and asked him to play along. I loved the way he flirted with her, and called her buttercup. The two danced, and had a good time.
Monday was a interesting day at the office. Jill meet her new boss. The very man that took her job, and the very man she danced with at the wedding!!!
I found this book to be fun. I normally don't like books written in first person, but the story itself made it worth reading. Jill added balance to her life. She found time to volunteer to feed the poor, made more time to visit friends, and dated her boss.

Up to date
What I love about this series, is that Heroine is the one that goes after the Hero in the story. Jill pushed Greg away throughout the story. When she realized she wanted him, she didn't let fear of rejection stop her from asking him out. The story itself was good.
Jill worked a boring office job, and hated it. She donated her talent for decorating to a auction to raise money for a charity. Jill got fired, and she reached for dreams. She had a passion for decorating, so why not make it into a career? Greg was her new neighbor, and won the auction. The two had fun working together to decorate his apartment. Greg was a ER. doctor. Jill grew up with her dad being a doctor. The pressure at work would cause her dad to drink more and more. Jill was really scared of dating anyone in the medical field. You'll have to read to see how Greg won her over. I'm not a fan of books written in first person as I have said before, but I did enjoy this sweet and fun story.

Déjà Date
This has been my favorite book in this series so far. Melinda pulled me right into the story. She lost her dad when she was 14. Her mother just found letters that her dad left to them. One for her mother, and one for her. That part of the story had me grabbing for the tissue box... Love a book that can make me cry. Her dad left her a list of things she had to do before she could get the life insurance. Her dad wanted her to seize the day. Nate was a boy that she shared her very first kiss with. He left town Shortly after that kiss, and never wrote, or called. Now he is back in town to help his dad. Nate's dad has been a friend of the family for many years. He was there for her family when her dad died. Melinda remembers working at Burney's bakery, and how much she loved it. Burney is now having health problems, and his doctors has told him that he shouldn't work. Melinda has never wanted to touch her dad's life insurance money, but now that she needs it to buy the bakery she has a list to finish before she can follow her dreams. The list was a fun list, like adopting a puppy. I really enjoyed this story! I enjoyed reading about Nate, and Melinda reconnecting, and getting to know each other again. The friendship never died throughout all the years apart, it picked right back up. Melinda didn't want to trust Nate, but her heart did. It was a sweet story. Real friendship is like that. It doesn't care how many years you go without seeing one another, real friends talk like you've been together every day.

Date and Dash
The last book in this series was fun and entertaining to read. Mary Ann had found memories of a bracelet that her granny would let her wear when she was a little girl. Mary Ann would be upset, and her granny would slip the bracelet onto Mary Ann's wrist, and her tears would stop.

Mary Ann slipped into her sister's house, and saw where her sister was going to a auction that afternoon. Mary Ann picked up the information about the action, and saw a picture of her granny's bracelet. She knew she had to get to the auction, and bid on that bracelet. That bracelet would mean the world to her. On the way there, she rear ended a man in a suit, that insisted on having a police report done. She knew she would be late, so she asked a friend to bid on the bracelet for her.

Once she got to the auction she won, but what she won was not her granny's bracelet. Turns out there was a mix-up on what her friend bid on. What she won was a series of dates, and a spot on a reality TV show. The person she was to date, was the very person she rear ended. Now that I have read all the books in this box set, it's a toss-up as to Déjà Date , or this book, Date, and Dash was my favorite... I really enjoyed both books, and can't decide.
