I did get emotional reading this.
Remmy and Jules were childhood best friends.
Until Jules leaves town with her Father, when her parents split up.
Returning years later after losing her Father and brother. She's happy when she comes face to face with her first/only love Remmy.
Remmy hates Jules for leaving him.
So when an opportunity comes around for Remmy to get back at Jules, he takes it.
So Jules thinks that if he hates her, she'll hate him too.
Stir in some drama, twists and turns, you have a really good read.
Jules just moved back to town and is instantly met with rage from Remington. They used to be best friends/super close etc but now Remington HATES her. Why? Because her parents got divorced and she had to live with her dad who relocated. That's it....a 15 year old girl moved when her parent did. Could she have stayed with her mom? NO because her mom refused to take her.
I don't care what baggage the guy was dealing with, this was hands down the dumbest reason to hate, hold a grudge and bully a person you loved five years later. It was so baffling that I kept waiting for more details to be revealed. Some misunderstanding that justified his hatred towards her but nope that was it.
Now once you get over this, the book is okay. Actions of characters are a little immature but they are 20 years old so it makes sense. Lots of drama(some of it predictable) but towards the end there was some interesting twists that I didnt expect.
It wasn't a bad book, I just didn't find myself rooting for Remy too much. I want to read other books by the author to see if this is the norm or not
This is the story of Jules and Remington (for the plot read the blurb), a tale filled with angst, hope, disbelief, despair, and redemption. I actually found myself, during a certain portion of this book, getting tense because I knew of a devastating secret that Remmy was hiding from his sweet Jules. I kept waiting for the proverbial shoe to drop and then it did... with a very loud bang...
This is a terrific story written by two really good writers. At times, an emotional rollercoaster ride. Now, I’m ready for the next in the series as they gave me an intro to it in the epilogue. Continue on! Please.
