The Best of Me by Jessica Prince is the third inter-connected standalone romance in her Hope Valley series. Told in dual POV this book is part friends to lovers, part second chance and 100 percent awesome. I decided to read books 1 (Out of My League) and 2 (Come Back Home Again) before just diving into book 3 and I am glad I did. I was so invested in the characters by the time I cracked The Best of Me open that it was a no-brainer I was going to love it.
All these books so far have been sexy, funny, emotional and have a whopping great angsty moment towards the climax of the story that will leave you on the edge of your seat. I don't want you to think it's formulaic and boring though - god no - these books are hand crafted awesomeness. From the turmoil that Trick deals with in letting his marriage go to the stress baking activities of Nona and her kids quiet observations proving they aren't just tiny humans, their smart kids aware of their mother's turmoil.
This binge-read of the Hope Valley series was my first time reading anything by Jessica Prince but it will NOT be my last. Enjoy!
Author Jessica Prince is back with another banging book and it didn't disappoint. I'm already itching for the next installment. . .⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. 4 stars. . Let's talk about the characters. Their names are perfect for the story and setting. With individually unique personalities you can't help but fall in love with each and every one of them. I love how Jessica Prince weaves updates on previous characters throughout the book. It's done smoothly and seamlessly. . The Hero/Heroine in ‘The best of me’ are both divorced with children and difficult ex’s. The plot explores the difficulties that come with that situation and the changes that each individual might possibly need to do in order to move on with each other. . .
This book, like the others, is NOT all sunshine and roses. There are action scenes, bad guys and sexy cops/security guys who know how to protect their town. . My only complaint is I felt like the teasers or breadcrumbs hinting at the next book were too frequent or obvious. I really didn't need it to be said so often. I easily worked it out for myself.
I absolutely loving this Hope Valley series & it keeps getting better as we get to know everyone. Trick & Nona' s story was a beautiful story of two divorce parents coming together to create something beautiful. I love that Jessica Prince has alittle bit of everything in her story's- angst, sweet, steaming hot with a side of suspense and drama
Ohhh I love love loved Trick and Nona! Though they got off to a rocky start, I loved every part of their journey! This book was so good I didn’t want to put it down! Loved their kids as well and I absolutely cannot wait for the rest of the books in this series!
