Greta is the eldest daughter and has recently caught the eye of Elig, he has asked for her hand in marriage and been refused more than once much to Greta’s delight even though she knows the money he is offering for her would help her parents and the rest of her family, she knows that her life would be one of misery. The man she really wants is Calder the Beserker he is feared by most but there is something about him that just calls to her in an elemental way. They have only ever spoken once to each other but that was enough for her to know that she belongs to him but before she can tell him the truth of her feelings for him she is taken by Elig will she escape and be able to return to her family or is she now to be his prisoner?
Calder is a Beserker Viking all he has eber known is a life of being alone but when he sees Greta he is drawn to her in a way that confuses him but cannot ignore. He finds himself returning to the town just in the hopes of catching sight of her. People fear him for his reputation of hunting his prey and killing whatever gets in his way but Greta looks at him with hunger and once he discovers that she has been taken there will be no one safe from his wrath until he finds her. Can he save and track down his woman and when he does he will claim her as his for always.
One of my favourite authors when I need a pick me up and this series will always be a MUST read for me.
Greta listens to her father tell Egil that she is not for sale but Egil argues with her father that he doesn't have any other offers and it's an insult for him not to accept his offer. Her father tells him that he would never be able to afford her and that he has rejected his offer and now he should leave. Egil is known by all that he is heartless and dangerous in nature and Greta worries that he might retaliate against her father.
Greta asks her father why he didn't except Egil's offer for her and he replied, You are my daughter.
Greta has only one man that she wants to be with. Calder, the berserker, wanderer, the feral. She wasn't afraid as Calder had been the only male she had been interested in, desired even though she hadn't even spoken to him.
During the night Greta is awakened and has realized that what has awakened her was a hand covering her mouth and she was being moved around the main hall toward the entrance. Once outside Greta found out who had taken her when she was told not to make a sound or her family would pay tenfold.
