5.0 out of 5 stars What a Ride! 15 March 2015
By TiffanyReadz - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
Good grief does Natalie Wrye pack a lot of story in a few pages with her books! In this second and final installment of Behind the Blindfold, not only are we dealing with Saturday and Mark, but a whole other cast of characters and drama. This review may contain spoilers from book one.

Uncovered picks up where Behind left off, with a spooked Saturday and a mysterious Mark. Axe is in the picture, although he is portrayed in such a way that he ends up being pretty inconsequential to the story in my opinion. So the real focus in Saturday's feelings about Mark. In the time apart they aren't going away. There is something about this guy, she wants him, however wants to know what is really going on with him.

Along with all of the Mark drama, Saturday also has to deal with her parents, both of her jobs, the slimy Cristiano and her best friend Kara. That adds up to a lot of problems and at the 75% mark the action is amped up to where you just can't wait to see how it's all going to end. While I am rooting for Mark, there is still an air of mystery about the guy and I was afraid to know what his real "problem" was. These lines are what kept me rooting for him:

"....Something seemed to bring me to you. Maybe fate....or the universe....God....whatever you'd call it." ~ Mark

"....I can't afford to lose you. You're the best and most unexpected thing that's ever happened to me." ~ Mark

Such honesty and when Mark finally comes clean, you hope that Saturday can see the man in front of her, not the one from his past. Natalie Wrye did a great job at continuing her story, giving us new plot lines and then wrapping things up nicely. She is a very descriptive writer which is what drew me in as I read the first book. Great addition to the series!

4.0 out of 5 stars I didnt see it coming!!! 26 May 2015
By KC -- Reading Is My Superpower - Published on

Well I did NOT see that coming.. wth??? Talk about out of left field and no where near the radar!!!

Uncovered picks up where book 1 left off. It jumps right in and keeps on going. This is not a stand alone, and you must read book 1 in order to know what is going on.

More secrets are revealed and yet more mystery begins to unfold. I love that this author keeps you on your toes. I love the twists and turns, the unexpected stops and the fact that just when you think you have it figured out, you realize you were not even close.

This is again, one of those books that is hard to review. Saying too much or the wrong thing will completely blow a new readers enjoyment of the story out of the water, because it is most definitely the mystery, intrigue and secrets that make this series to good. Nothing is as it seems. NOTHING.

I still found myself torn on whether or not I liked Mark. I still couldnt decide if he was a decent guy or not. And some of the revelations that came in this book about him had me leaning heavily towards the "run Saturday run!! Far far away from this guy and dont look back!". But then another piece of the puzzle would fit into place and I would be back on the fence about him. Then another mystery would be solved and I would want them to have their happily ever after. Then something would happen and I was back to thinking he was a psycho that needed to be locked up in a padded room with a helmet and a set of crayons. But, then another piece of the puzzle would slip into place and I was back to rooting for him. It was almost maddening and I LOVED it. The author did a brilliant job keeping the mystery in surrounding him front and center. And the entire story kept me on my toes. Like with the 1st book, just when I thought I had it figured out, I found out I was not even close.

One of the things I realized as I was reading this one, was that a good part of the reason I loved this series was because the author was so good at getting your mind thinking a certain way. She would play into that, but when the twist came it all made sense. You were never lost or felt like anything was out of place or forced. The entire story flowed well and nothing felt thrown in.

All of the mystery behind Mark is brought forward. All of his secrets are uncovered. He is laid bare by the end of the book. And trust me when I say, nothing ended up how I was playing it out in my mind. There were so many surprises that you would think the author had just thrown everything but the kitchen sink into the story just to make it come out crazy. But once the last piece of the puzzle was put in place, it was seamless in its brilliance. And I found myself thinking "WTH??" more than once as I was reading.

I read this one in 1 sitting. I literally read both book 1 and 2 in about a day and 1/2. My need to know what was going to happen was so strong. I was glad I started reading on a Sunday and that Monday was Memorial Day so I could just read. But, I must warn you... this one ends in a semi cliff hanger. What does that mean you ask??? Well, I emailed the author to ask if there was going to be another installment. She said yes. (Thank God!!) But what I mean by "semi" cliff hanger is this: All of the mystery was solved. You are left without any questions as to the things that happened. You get all of your answers. But the ending is what I call open ended. I cant really explain in too much detail because it would require spoilers... and you know how Iam about spoilers. You can read book 1 and 2 and not need to read another book. But, with the way the author ends it, you are left wanting more. You are left wanting to know what the future holds for Mark and Saturday. So even though it doesnt end on a "typical" cliffhanger, it does end by leaving you yearning for more of their story. So technically the series could end here, but thankfully the author has plans to put you out of your misery and give you more of Mark and Saturday. *Happy Dance*

So, let the stalking begin as I look for book #3 of this series......

5.0 out of 5 stars What a wild ride! I really loved it. 24 August 2015
By Savannah H. - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
This series was an extremely well crafted story. I enjoyed all the plot twists and turns and I loved the chemistry between Saturday (I totally love that name by the way) and Mark. I appreciate a female character that I can empathize with and truly care about, and I really cared about this one, especially with all the suspense surrounding her! Several moments in this one gave me chills. There are some serious heart-pounding revelations and all the questions from the first book were answered, leaving no question marks, which is a tough feat to accomplish for an involved story like this one. I was thrilled with the ending! I'm looking forward to reading more from this author, I'm actually personally a little picky when it comes to characters and writing style, and I truly loved both in this case! It was such a great story and so well-written and edited. I really enjoy third person books when they stick to one character's point of view, especiallllly when I really like the main character and Saturday was a great character to follow.
4.0 out of 5 stars ... I just start out saying that I am so glad I was given Book 1 and Book 2 at ... 18 June 2015
By Kindle Customer - Published on
Can I just start out saying that I am so glad I was given Book 1 and Book 2 at the same time. I don't think I could have waited to see what was going on with this couple. Mark was a complete mystery in Book 1 and his aloofness was killing me.

Behind the Blindfold: Uncovered is the conclusion to Mark and Saturday's story. Mark isn't handling their breakup well and neither is Saturday. She is constantly thinking of him and somehow can't seem to get him out of her head. But what is a girl to do, when her relationship crumbles and she learns his ugly truths......well getting back into the dating world is the next step. However, Axe just can't seem to matchup to Mark. They have similar interest in the art world but something about him puts Saturday off. She can't seem to be affecinate with him and finds it even hard to pay attention to him when he talks. He is nothing like Mark. What is a girl to do? It's hard to get a ex out of your head when he is constantly putting himself in there by sending gifts, notes and flowers. It is him sending them, right?????

After some time apart, Saturday sees Mark in person and quickly cries when he tells her he is back and wants to explain what is going on. Deciding that knowing is probably the best thing for her, she agrees but after learning the truth will his answers be enough? Will she want to stay and continue where they left off knowing the truth? Can Mark be the man she needs?

There are many twist and turns in this story. Truths will be told by not only Mark and Saturday but also my some of the people you would least expect it from. This was a fantastic read and I found myself trying to slow down and not rush through it to find out what happens. Lets just say that the ending totally shocks me. Never saw that one coming.
4.0 out of 5 stars She is both mad and happy about the gifts 12 March 2015
By steamy book momma - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
This story picks up right where Vol. 1 ended. Saturday ran away from Mark’s house after finding the photos. She keeps receiving gifts in the mail that she assumes are from Mark. She is both mad and happy about the gifts, mad because she is trying to get over him and happy because he is fighting to get her back. She has started to date someone else, a graffiti artist named Axe. She knows she should break it off but she just can’t bring herself too. She can’t bring herself to be intimate with him. Kissing is as far as she can go plus she is always thinking about Mark and comparing Axe to Mark. She doesn’t think Axe is totally invested in the relationship either but she can’t be mad about it because neither is she. Then when she finally feels like she is moving on she sees Mark. She thought the next time she saw him she would yell and maybe hit him but she doesn’t. Instead she cries and is extremely happy to see him. He tells her he isn’t going to stay away anymore and that he wants to explain about what happened. Again in this story I really feel for Saturday. So much is happening. She wants to move on from Mark but deep down she knows that she still loves and trusts him. She wants to answers he is finally willing to give and not just for closure. Then she learns other things and is scared all over again. I was surprised by some of the things that happen in this book. I was really happy for Saturday that she finally got the answers she needed and the ending she wanted. Mark turns out to be totally different than what she thought at the end of the last book. Mark is a caring, broken man. He was worried that his past would affect his future with Saturday. He would rather be sad and alone than hurt Saturday. The end took be by complete surprise. I didn’t see that coming at all but it was great. It was just what the book needed. I would like to read more about these characters. I will be looking for other books by this author. I really liked this series.
I was given this book in return for an honest review.
