A flash of green eyes, and then...he was gone.

Mysterious, secluded, powerful, seductive.

Mark Rich shows up in a gallery, and then at a party, and then in Saturday's dreams.

Wealthy? Yes. Sexy? God, yes. But who is he?
Ostensibly, he seems to be a jack-of-all-trades - a multifaceted Renaissance man.

Her artistic heart will follow him to the depths of his realm, to a world of beauty, art and desire in which she so desperately wants entry.

But Mark has a dark secret...deeper than any shadow Saturday has ever encountered.

Blinded by a craving she has never known, will she find the strength to remove the mask and look past her heart into a reality that may shatter her?

    Enjoyable quick easy read.
I was drawn in from the first page right up until the cliffhanger ending.
I've already started on the 2nd book.
I bought both together at the same time.

    5.0 out of 5 stars I was blown away!! 29 December 2014
By AMBER - Published on Amazon.com

4.5 "Don't judge a book by its cover" STARS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

    I am in awe.
    I am confused.
    I am wanting more.
    I am needing answers.
I am I love with the writing.

"You are so damn beautiful… and sexy… and talented and… I'm so glad to call you mine, Saturday. All mine."

Wow this book threw me for a loop. In a good way though, a really good way. I admit I am confused and intrigued all at the same time (this is a commendable thing and the sign of a great book). I have so many questions and that cliffhanger has me on the edge of my seat in anticipation.

This is not your typical romance. It's more of a mystery romance or dark romance. (Which I happen to love and don't read enough of.) These kind of books have to be well thought out, executed properly and superbly written - all of which happened in this book.

Saturday (Yes, that is her name. I was hoping it had some significance or an explanation behind it but I didn't find anything. It was actually a bit confusing and I don't recommend using a day of the week for a name. Or maybe changing the POV to first person.) was a hard nut to crack at times. On one hand she was strong, talented, smart, beautiful, good and self-sufficient yet other times she could be awkward, unsure of what she wanted, hesitant and completely infatuated with a beautiful yet puzzling man. So completely infatuated in fact that she was "blinded" to things she should have wanted and demanded answers to.

"…but she had to ask herself: did she ever really have him? He still was keeping secrets. Hiding things."

Now don't get me wrong, I totally related to Saturday. Her flaws and indecisiveness made her so much more real and I liked her for that. No one can always be one attribute always and not its counterpart, especially when love is involved. Saturday was just exactly the right amount of everything and to me that just made the story.

Mark (the hero?) is obviously hiding something. He's like 2 different people and being privy to some of his diary entries just intrigues and confuses me all the more. I don't doubt his infatuation, possibly love, and good intentions for Saturday but what is motivating him and who he really is is the BIG question. I hope to find out in volume two.

"My love. My passion for her. My Saturday."

"She is turning into such a disappointment…"

    I have so many questions!

I really cannot wait for book 2 but I'm very hesitant -
    Will it be as good?
Will it answer all of my questions?
    Will it not disappoint?
    - because the buildup is so intense I'm afraid it will disappoint. It won't live up to what an amazing book this first one is.
This is an extraordinarily fabulous debut novel and Natalie has worked me up to the point that unless this turns out amazing I'm just going to be very disappointed. In so many ways this is a good thing. Her debut novel is close to 5 star material but that just means she has to up her game to make sure volume 2 measures up.

4.0 out of 5 stars Love at Warp Speed 23 December 2014
By TiffanyReadz - Published on Amazon.com
    Format: Kindle Edition
This book had my emotions all over the place. For one, the title is a little mis-leading and for me it was a good thing. I'm not real into the whole BDSM, blindfold me, pleasure is pain thing. Actually, I asked the author what she meant by it and she explained how our female lead is going into this "relationship" blinded to what is really in front of her. That being said, I thought the beginning was great, the middle was a bit confusing and the end was fantastic.

Saturday (a name I had a hard time with) is a girl living a pretty normal life. She is a painter, however her "real job" is working at an art gallery and waiting tables a few nights a week to make ends meet. No boyfriend in sight, she spends most of her free time with her friend Kara. While at the farmers market one morning, she hears the sexiest voice carrying on a phone conversation. Trying to get a better look, she ends up making a fool of herself, but doesn't have a chance to meet the man on the phone personally. She will always remember his beautiful green eyes though.

Mark is a man of total mystery. He sees the gorgeous Saturday at the art gallery and gives her a ride to the bus stop because it was raining. After that, it seemed he bumped into her several times over the next few weeks. There is an attraction between them, one he wants to find out more about.

Saturday is an art fan and realizes that Mark has something to do with the art world, however he is so secretive she has no idea what his real occupation is. This is where the story started to loose me a bit. Mark and Saturday aren't together very long and there is an "I love you" thrown out followed by a disappearance. Not too sure what that was all about, but once there is resurfacing, things seem all honky dory with them again. I didn't like that Saturday was such a push over for a guy she knows zero about.

Mark sends the creep meter to red and beyond. There isn't anything about this guy that makes sense and a few pages in his POV makes you wonder what he is up to. The guy is hiding something major which partially comes out towards the end of the book.

The book is well written and kept me interested, albeit confused at some points. I think Natalie e. Wrye has somewhere to go with the story of Mark and Saturday, to which I am curious about and will be reading the next installment.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great debut novel 30 May 2015
    By R. Simons - Published on Amazon.com
    Format: Kindle Edition
Behind The Blindfold was a great book to read, we met the lovely Saturday who loves art, is an artist herself and works in a gallery. She seems like a lovely girl and someone that is quite strong in herself.

Her first encounter with Mark is at supermarket, he is talking sternly to someone on the phone. She is intrigued and lingers longer than she should to find out a little more about him. She knocks a display over and Mark helps her pick everything up but when she looks round he has vanished.

The pair meet again at the gallery and one thing leads to another and they get together. The problem is Mark has commitment issues and he will be there one minute and disappear for days, weeks and even months without talking to Saturday and as a result she is not happy about it. They do meet up again and she asks him outright why he is like this but he seems to avoid answering the questions. There is something dark and deep about Mark that we all want to know.

This book is full of suspense and mystery, with a little romance and steaminess too, but it wasn’t full on which I liked as it flowed with the story well.

They characters were likable although I did want to scream at Mark to pull himself together and just commit or walk away as it was not fair on Saturday.

A well written book, with a cliffhanger at the end, luckily the second book is already out so I can read it straight away.

5.0 out of 5 stars Saturday is an absolute delight. Loved following her thought-process throughout this book. 24 August 2015
    By Savannah H. - Published on Amazon.com
I couldn't stop reading this book. First, the main character's name is Saturday! I love that name, it's unique but not like Tireza or Kylone or something like we tend to see in romance at times. A happy start to the novel, and I also loved the way the character's appearances and clothes were described. The author really painted a picture of the scenes and it was always a sexy one. I felt like I was moving right along with Saturday on this whole journey of hers. I liked the light-hearted writing, it made for a very fun read. There were so many plot twists! There's a ginormous cliffhanger so I'm really excited that I have book two readily available for me. Mark... sigh... he's dreamy. I like his character so much! I get the feeling that he's misunderstood and a lot of his flaws can be rationally explained. I'm super intrigued by the big giant mystery in the book. There's a 2nd point of view that comes in simple journal entries and it's very stalker-like. The mystery is that we have no idea who's thoughts we're reading in these vague and creepy journal entries. I love a nice little suspenseful addition like that to a girly story like this. :) I can't wait to move on to book two and clear up the mystery!

    4.0 out of 5 stars Surprising!! 25 December 2014
By Everything Marie - Published on Amazon.com

This book was not at all what I was expecting. Saturday bumps into a gorgeous pair of green eyes. When she turns to speak to him he disappears. She seems to keep running into him and seeing him everywhere. Finally she meets him and sparks fly. They seem to have an instant connection but its a bit too much for Saturday so she runs.

Mark isn't willing to let Saturday go and finds another way to see her. When things get to be too much for him, Mark runs. A chance call from his mother brings Saturday back to him, but he's hiding something huge from her and it might be big enough to break them apart for good.

    Warning, Huge cliffhanger!
