Back when I was just a young teen, I came across these books. I read these 2 like mad because for some reason the library didn't have the last 2. It wasn't until late high school I asked my English teacher f she could get them so I could read it. She did. I finished both books in a day and let my friends read them till the last 2 came. I read it and was VERY disappointed.
It has a rushed ending. The guy who you want her to get with dies. Horribly. And it made me sad that the books I've wanted to read for so many years ended like this. But looking back, I realized that yeah the ending sucked, but didn't I like the twists and turns? Didn't I like having mini chapters in the killer's prospective? Didn't I like it until then? Yes, yes I did and still do.
Now, if you have the mindset, like I do, that a rushed ending can ruin a book. Then don't get it. go to the library and check it out! If you don't mind then its worth it. I only regret one thing...not getting the original 4 part books with their cool covers.
Especially, the second book. Its awesome.

The best horror YA book I've read!Reviewed in the United States on 26 March 2015
Creepy and suspenseful. The only negative criticism I have is that Lucy is a little slow on the uptake, which is unnerving at times and slows the story down. Which is why I gave only 4 stars. It's much more horrific than any other YA mystery I've read so far and very dark. I'm excited to see what gruesome things the author has in store in the next book! The antagonist is straight out of your worst nightmare. A near perfect horror monster. I don't know Lucy is going to survive this....
Richie does it again!Reviewed in the United States on 12 March 2017
Richie Tankersley Cusick is still my favorite author of thrillers. I fell in love with her books at age 12, and now I'm so delighted to discover this series at 40 years old. Brings me back! Her writing is excellent - fast-paced and never boring, wonderful character development, and I can never guess whodunnit! Looking forward to reading the next 3 books. Probably by the end of this weekend (so addicting!).
Great, easy read!Reviewed in the United States on 8 August 2013
I've enjoyed reading this story. It kept me wondering what was going to happen next. I have yet to get the second volume and see how everything turns out. I was a bit disappointed that one of the characters who seemed like a promising companion for Lucy was killed off so soon, but I guess I'll see how it all pans out when I get the second volume.
