Product Description

Given a second chance at first love, will two wounded souls risk their hearts once more?

A good archaeologist always finds what he’s digging for…

Mina Winslow buys her ancestral home with plans to restore the house to the beautiful sanctuary it once was, but she soon discovers more than she bargained for when she's reunited with a man from her past. The one man she never stopped longing for.

Renowned archaeologist, Noah Nolan, swore he’d never return to the small town where he spent his adolescence. But his brief stay on the remote island in Lake Michigan becomes complicated when he agrees to complete a short-term excavation project, only to realize the site belongs to the woman who inexplicably rejected him years before. A woman he’s never forgotten – or forgiven.

Now Noah’s affinity for uncovering all things lost, forgotten, and buried stirs Mina’s repressed memories of a terrifying secret, a secret that tore them apart years ago. This time, she must find the courage to unearth the past, or risk losing the treasure of her heart forever.

BEAUTIFUL RUIN is the first book in a contemporary romance series connecting the five, Irish-born Nolan brothers. It is a full-length, standalone novel with a Happily Ever After.

Author's Note: This book contains storylines that touch on the topics of sexual assault and abuse which may be triggering to survivors.

What readers are saying:
“This book was so good! I didn't think I was going to become obsessed, but I quickly did. I stayed up all night last night to finish it. Every time I put it down, I couldn't stop thinking about the characters. The story is done so well. The plot is never boring. You really grow to care about almost all of the characters. I can't wait till the next book comes out.”

“A beautiful writer and natural storyteller, Olle portrays her characters and their messy, sometimes heartbreaking lives in details that resonate, empower, and excite.”

“While this is a second chance romance, the story delves into family, abuse, betrayal, and finally triumph. It is well written and kept me turning pages till the end. Highly recommend.”

Many readers who enjoy Amy’s books also enjoy Nora Roberts, Susan Elizabeth Phillips, and Marie Force.

5.0 out of 5 stars A sad love story 30 October 2016
By Margaret Watkins - Published on Amazon.com

Beautiful Ruin is a sad love story with many unresolved issues between Mina and Noah. Both had terrible pain that had not been dealt with and as they meet up again after 15 years, the pot begins to bubble and the issues surface. Mina has so much that is working against her, and the disappointments just keep mounting. Noah's own self-worth is in much need of repair as well. However, the attraction between Noah and Mina is still so strong that it overrides the inner devils beleaguering them. I was left feeling sad when I finished the novel, however it is well written with depth of feeling and hope for the future.
5.0 out of 5 stars Dreams or Nightmares? 11 August 2016

The Winslow family is known locally for starting the settlement on a small island nestled off the western coast of Northern Michigan over 150 years ago. The story in town is that each of the Winslow children receives $1,000,000 (One Million Dollars) at birth.

Mina wants nothing as much as she wants to convert the house her ancestors built there, into a bed and breakfast inn.

Home repair projects always seem to have a way of escalating. Doing a renovation on a very old home that has not been maintained makes it even worse.

As Mina starts to work on restoring her ancestral home, her problems begin to mount…First, the workmen found raccoons living in the chimney, then the basement flooded following the first rain. Now they are finding mold in the walls, the bathrooms are not up to code, and the well is no longer up to code! And the list goes on.

When an archeologist must be called in because of something found during the digging of the new well, all Mina sees is more $$$, and more delays! She hoped to have the inn open for business by next spring, now she is wondering if it will ever happen!

After Mina is laid off from her job at the university, she must scramble for another job, which only seems to add another delay to her dream.

Mina finds that that world renowned archeologist sent to investigate the find in her yard, is the same boy she had loved in high school, Noah Nolan. Can she find a way to work with him? Will he be able to work with her? After all, Mina was the girl he had loved in high school, who then suddenly turned very cold. Will there be enough money to complete the project and what about furniture for her inn?

The main characters are well developed, even the antagonist, Phoebe who hates Mina. One can almost see the faces of these characters, even their emotions are visible!

A good, solid story of how two people who bring boatloads of unresolved issues into a relationship find the willl in each other to face their demons. If language and sex are a problem for you, then this probably isn't a story your would enjoy.

What a difficult subject to write about but it was done beautifully and I loved how the characters aren't physically perfect, that they are just like us regular folks, with insecurities and doubts. Have signed up for newsletters from this author to ensure I don't miss out on future books from her.
