This book is amazing! Dark, tragic, sexy and sinful. The way Gen writes is so captivating, I was engrossed from the start. Excited to read more of her work :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Best book I've read this year 26 August 2016

Granted 2016 isn't over yet, but I've got to say, so far this is the best book I've read this year. The author told me I'd need tissues--I don't cry, I said, so I blew off the warning. Tears didn't actually fall, but I will say that I was heartbroken. I was angry. I was a lot of different emotions, actually. If you have an emotion you want to feel, this book will make you feel them.

I started it and had to put it down two pages in due to work demands, but once I picked it back up, I flew through it in a night, refusing to close my eyes until I got to the end. Can't wait for the sequel.

4.0 out of 5 stars 10 September 2016

I knew this was going to be a dark read but I still cringed at a lot of it. Scott and Madison had completely different childhoods but somehow they find a way to make the differences work. My gosh, I didn't expect some of what happens to happen...twist after twist. Very good book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Must Read Psychological Thriller! 8 December 2016

This was my first book by Gen Ryan but it will not be my last. It is definitely a dark psychological thriller. I loved how the love story was incorporated into the book and it did not feel forced. At times I was not sure if I wanted to punch or hug the characters but I would definitely recommend this book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Dark, Suspenseful...and Beautiful 12 July 2016

Gen Ryan's Beautiful Masterpiece is a dark, suspenseful read filled with beautiful writing! This book grabbed my attention on the first page. I loved the entire concept of the book. It was creepy and terrifying, but the romance aspects balanced it out and gave me hope for Maddie. I loved her perseverance to overcome her dark past. I also though Liam really made the work deep and made me think about topics such as redemption. The story line kept me wanting to turn the page.

Ryan's book really shows us that our pasts sometimes haunt us, but they don't have to own us. I cannot wait for the sequel to this book. I look forward to seeing more of Maddie and Scott.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Read 20 March 2016
By Deb A. - Published on

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review. I liked the book very much, but it was actually like reading two different books. On one hand, there was the psychological thriller, which I really enjoyed. On the other hand, there was a romance novel, which I felt got in the way of the thriller. It was as though it was written by two different people. Both were very good, but I felt the switches were distracting. Since I really don't care for romance novels, I could have done without that part. A little romance would have been okay, but not to the point of losing sight of the original concept. This was very good, however, and I would recommend it, especially if you like psychological thrillers AND romance novels.
