Product Description

A Highland warrior battles to reclaim his birthright in the first of a new series filled with seduction, revenge, and soul-stirring passion…

They call him the Beast—a hardened mercenary whose heart seems as cold as his icy blue gaze. They do not know his true name: Niall Braewick, son of the Laird of Kincaid. It has been years since he escaped into the forest the night his father was murdered. Now he has returned, ablaze with a vengeful hunger. He will gain the MacClaren chief’s trust, gather his clan, and take back his lands. And take the MacClaren’s daughter as well…

Though he pulled her from the river, saving her life, Elspeth has been warned to keep her distance from her father’s hired warrior. He is a barbarian—a shame, as he is far more compelling than the lechers and fools competing for her dowry. Little does she know that, like the castle itself, she is a prize Niall intends to claim…but will he extract blood for blood and possess what is his, or will his enemy’s beautiful, innocent daughter tempt him to forsake his dream of conquest?

This is a must read novel and as soon as I finish this will be down loading the next book. Characters where strong, story line intriguing. I loved how at the back of your mind you know something about one of the characters but it's just out of reach, although it's a cliff hanger do not let this deter you from reading it. Just be prepared to get the next in the series.

3.0 out of 5 stars I wanted this book to be so much better than it actually was 5 July 2016

I wanted this book to be so much better than it actually was. Chapter 1 set an incredible scene but the subsequent chapters while good weren't as captivating as I had hoped. In honesty, I found myself skimming through the book. Loved the premise I just wish it had delivered more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent 11 October 2016

This is the first book of this author and I am impressed I love this story and will b looking for more of her books n the future. This book was FANTASTIC. I loved every minute of it and it will be a many rereads. The romance she built up between the leading male and leading lady was felt very very much. You could feel it every time they came together. It wrapped around your emotions and feelings between the said characters. The characters were strong in there own right and mind and made one powerful couple. Loved this story. This author has a very promising future with romance books. I wish she had more out. She can't write fast enough for me.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good but predictably good 5 July 2016

I enjoyed this and if you like Highlander books I suspect you will enjoy this also. Overall, the plot was not particularly original and as such predictable. I am ok with that though because it is a plot I enjoy. I liked Niall and Elspeth but again they were fairly predictably portrayed as well. The steam level between them was fairly low and predictably written. Definitely no scenes to get the reader hot and bothered with them. Nothing about the book really stands out to make it excellent but it is good and easy to read.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Beast of Clan Kincaid 7 July 2016

This is the first book I had ever read of Lily Blackwood and I have enjoyed reading it. The story is about revenge and love and how it changes everything you seem to know. I can't wait until the next book comes out with Magnus story. I am glad that I found her and gave her a try. I hope you will enjoy reading it as much as I did.

4.0 out of 5 stars Bridget has offered to help Elspeth find a husband but choses the most disgusting men she can to punish her 15 June 2016
By Amanda F. - Published on Amazon.com

One night, when Niall Braewick was a child, his family's home was invaded. Betrayed and outmanned Niall's father, Laird Kincaid, surrenders only to have his wife and himself slaughtered. Niall, the oldest of three, was separated from his brothers that night. Never to have heard from them again he assumes them dead. For years he was hidden away and plotted his revenge on those who were responsible for the massacre that night. Waiting for the day to fulfill his legacy as Laird Kincaid and reclaim the land stolen from him. Upon meeting, and saving, his enemy's daughter Elspeth he decides to add claiming her for himself to his plans for vengeance.
Elspeth is living in hell. Her stepmother, Bridget, is wicked and cruel to her. And her father whom she believed would always protect her is failing to do just that. Bridget has offered to help Elspeth find a husband but choses the most disgusting men she can to punish her. One day while attempting to rescue her sister from a river she herself falls in and is saved by a handsome warrior.
I am new to the historical genre and have been waiting for this books release for a while. While I enjoyed to well developed plot and characters of this story about half way through I was discouraged by the predictable inevitability of this book. The main question this book asks is will Niall decide his love for Elspeth is great than his need for revenge. And by 40-ish% I felt like there was no question as to how that would end. Niall was coming off as a little bit of a sissy as far as highlanders go and made it seem as though his decision had already been made. Where's the difficult decision or inner conflict? Right when I thought it was all too easy BAM! There is was. Which catapulted this from an ehh read, to a holy s***e I cant wait to see how this story continues! I was hooked and couldn't put it down.
This particular couples story was a stand alone but the entire story itself isn't complete. I cant wait to see what happens in the next book. Happy reading!
