Product Description

The law said I was a runaway.
I preferred the term survivor.
After being broken down and emotionally tortured for fifteen years, I made a choice to change the path that my life was on.
It left me alone, homeless and scared, but alive.
The streets were where I found my family. A group of kids like me who society had failed to protect.
We weren't teenagers anymore – we were a statistic, a nuisance, the scum on the bottom of the city’s shoe.

When he showed up that night, I never expected to feel the things I did.
He was honest and protective and he saw straight through the hardened exterior that I had created.
He made me want to fight for something better.
I could run, go back to the street and continue risking my life just to live.
But now, being offered something more, I wasn't sure if I could go back without at least a taste of what it was like.
We came from two completely different worlds, but they were about to collide. And I was about to learn that maybe the grass really wasn't that much greener on the other side.

Let me start of by saying I don’t normally read YA books, but this book was amazing.

The underlying message in this book of fighting to believe, not to give us, believe in yourself and trust, was phenomenally done with an amazing story line.

Fable had grown up in a house of abuse, running to live on the streets now that no one believed what was taking place, the idea of returning home was never an option and her new street family at Bayward Street was all she needed. That was until she met Heath Carson, sweet, popular, ambitious and very determined to win Fable over and show her there is more to life and the opportunities are there.

This well written YA book I would defiantly need to recommend to many teenagers out there; not due to family violence situation but due to Fables strong determination and courage to keep fighting; that even though she came from a bad place she still deserved the respect and chances from those around her.

5.0 out of 5 stars I fell hard 20 May 2016
By HeadTripping Books - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
I absolutely loved this book, it's an amazing read, I stayed up way to late reading this book and had a major book hangover after but OMG so worth it. I loved everything about this book, I would not change a single thing, I fell hard for these characters and I am not ready to let go yet, hopefully we will get more from Ms Jane.

Heath and Fable were amazing characters and I couldn't get enough, their relationship reminded me of Sam and Mason from the Fallen Crest Series, you can feel their connection through the words and pages of this book. Heath's family just as beautiful and gave our Fable the strength to say 'No, it's not ok, I need to tell someone'. There were two evil characters in this read and gee, I have read a lot of books where we get our evil characters but Jay, she has been one of the worst, wow!!!!

I can not recommend this book enough, go and buy it now, it's so worth it and you will fall just as hard as all the characters in this read, simply amazing. Reviewed for HeadTripping Books by Carolyn.

3.0 out of 5 stars I enjoyed the plot and the characters 13 June 2016
By KT - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
I enjoyed the plot and the characters, but the writing felt a bit immature and the story line a bit to easy and convenient. There was a fair amount of drama and difficult situations, but they were either far fetched and felt like they were just there to add drama, or they were too easily wrapped up with a nice little bow. It just lacked a level and depth and realism.

There was also the huge pet peeve for me of a non American author writing a story set in America. This exact story wold have worked being set in any part of the world. Every country has abuse and kids on the streets and all the issues that were touched on her. There was no reason it had to be set in LA. It really bothers me when characters used phrases and expressions that would never be used in the area the story is set in. It is sloppy and poorly researched writing in my opinion. Ether set the story in the place you are most familiar with or research the area you choose.

5.0 out of 5 stars and she didn't disappoint, This is a very unique story 20 May 2016

Bayward Street is a new genre for the lovely and talented Addison Jane. I knew her writing would be superb, and she didn't disappoint, This is a very unique story, and she wrote it just beautifully. This is a story about life struggles, surviving and love. A young girl is now living on the streets and has a band of friends who have become her family. She is given a second chance to turn her life around and make it what she should have had all along. Fable (Kiera) is 17 years old. Fleeing an abusive home to the streets, she finds her "family." Fable meets Heath and her life is about to change. You will have to read it to find out where this story goes. Sometimes you need to make your own family when a second chance is given. Great break out story for Addison. Way to go!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars I really liked her. She knows that sharing blood doesn’t make ... 20 May 2016
By Tonya Allen - Published on Amazon.com

This is the first book by Addison Jane that I have read, it won’t be the last.

I really felt for Keira/Fable. What she grew up in, I can’t blame her for what she did, or for deciding living on the street was safer for her, than living at home with her parents.

She’s had a tough life, but she’s a survivor. I really liked her.

She knows that sharing blood doesn’t make you a family.

Heath is a rich kid, but he doesn’t act spoiled or snobby. He steps in to help Fable when she’s in trouble and he doesn’t even know her, she’s just a street kid.

Things actually start to look up for her, only for it to crash back down.

She learns she needs to trust and it’s okay to ask for help.

This is a great read!

4.0 out of 5 stars Breaking free from the abuse 30 May 2016
By SEB - Published on Amazon.com

I really liked this author's Club Girl Diaries books and especially her hard-hitting biker romance with action. I really didn't know this was YA when I got it...no sex, minimal adult content (mostly abusive parents and mean girls who act out) but with a really intense storyline and engaging characters who kept me interested to keep reading.
Different change of pace for me and suitable enough for a teenager.

**** 4 **** "breaking free from the abuse" stars
