The Baylan Chronicles: DRACE: A Sci-Fi Alien Romance Kindle Edition
The only thing Drace Dal-Allean, Saar-king of the Baylan people, wants is keep his beautiful human woman alive and safe. She became his mate the moment she touched him, as evidenced by the new soul marks appearing on his chest. The longer they're bound together, the harder it becomes to ignore the demands of his body and soul. Rachel shares his attraction, but finds it hard to believe that she could be his queen on the base ship he commands.
The sudden appearance of a Baylan base ship within view of Earth throws the human race into turmoil, forcing Rachel to adapt to her new life fast. Caught between two worlds, Rachel risks losing the world she knows and the sexy alien king who has awakened her heart.
THE BAYLAN CHRONICLES: DRACE is the first book in a romance series about hot alien males finding their mates with human women. This story contains no cliffhangers, no cheating, and a guaranteed HEA (happily ever after)!

I might've liked this more if not for the h. I thought she was wishy-washy, constantly back and forth literally one second to the next. She was too eager to be a victim to her past, in my opinion, and she was just so annoying. She has a TSTL moment, totally made no sense. Ever seen the X-Files, lady? Or E.T., or any other alien movie where the government doesn't want to experiment on you? She's like, I want to go home, I'm an American citizen, I have rights, I can help... wah wah wah. Woman, please, be smarter, so I can take away this hand slapped to my forehead. But she wasn't, so I didn't.
In the beginning Drace tells Rachel that he had been kept and experimented on by Dept 6 for about 4 months, but when they get to the lake to retrieve his shuttle and meet the head of his military, he doesn’t say anything about the fact that Drace has been missing for 4 months!! Not a word! You would think the fact that his King has been missing and out of contact for 4 months would be something he would mention. Or if they were out on their own and did not have any plans to keep in contact with one another then the author should have worked that into the story somehow because it just seemed weird. Also, at the end, when Rachel woke up after being shot, she was told that she had been asleep, healing, for about 3 months. That seems very extreme considering the Baylans have very advanced technology and should have been able to heal her much faster than on Earth. So, it seems like the author should have listed her injuries to explain why she was out for so long, otherwise, 3 months is a lot longer than seems necessary considering how advanced their technology and medicine are.
These things were just such huge mistakes that I couldn’t seem to get my mind off them. However, I still really enjoyed the story. It was steamy and sexy and sweet all at once. I also enjoyed the action element with Dept 6.
It was a fun alien romance read and I can't wait for the next in the series.
