I'm really torn about this book - while there are parts and elements I liked, there are also moments I didn't like. Because of this, I felt like I was let down a little as I was really interested in the story based off the blurb.
Sure, there is a lot of humour in it surrounding the embodiment of Hermes, and we have some scary intense moments with Ares, but to me it just felt like it jumped from one character to the next without any flow. We have a MC who I personally felt just continually flew by the seat of her pants and all her decisions were based off luck in the moment. There is a lot of build up in order to "save" Locke from the unknown bad-guys, but once she's essentially taken it's a quick trip til she's out again.
I don't think I'll be reading book two in any rush, though I am interested to see if the storyline develops any better in the future.
