So, The Arkham Knight makes his official canon and prime earth appearance.
I don’t want to delve into spoilers but I will and this story is just painful to read.
The idea of The Arkham Knight in the game is blown apart, it isn’t Jason Todd.
It’s seems to be some woman that blames Batman for her mother’s death and idolises him and hates him all the same.
Her father and mother both doctors at Arkham. The Mother is well respected by all the inmates and loved and she gives birth in Arkham to a daughter and with the help of Batman’s rogues gallery.
Well, Mum/Doctor sadly dies and blames Batman because his batarang kills her thrown by another inmate.
She acts like an actual Knight with discipline and her men have bows and arrows...
It just all seems so sloppy.
The Arkham Knight could have been so much more.
The art is mediocre at best.
Peter Tomasi is far better than this, but I’ll keep it for the sake of continuity.
It essence it does not really add much but a bigger picture for Detective comics is brewing.
Stick with it because the later story picks up better.
The book is a nice enough hardcover.
Pages are this new retro feeling stock, no more nice glossy and thick pages.
Nice enough variant covers and you get a plain old dust jacket.
If you’re a continuity freak like me, get it. But if you’re a casual looking for Batman’s best reads, avoid.
