(Suncoast Society series book 50)

[Siren Sensations: Erotic Consensual BDSM Menage a Trois Romance, M/M/F, sex toys, HEA]

Another holiday, another Suncoast Society party. But what's troubling Cali, Sean, and Max? Can a kinky Easter egg hunt snap them out of it? As their friends gather once more, the triad puts on a united front and a happy face. While they remember to count their blessings, will the future finally come into clear focus?

Unicorn photo shoots, rainbow rope, and getting their cat, Baxter, stoned on catnip are all on the agenda. It doesn't hurt that they finally get to see karma in all its splendid glory giving them the good kind of cosmic payback for a change.

They know they're lucky. Now, all they have to do is keep reminding themselves of that fact.

Note: This book contains double penetration.

This book is a direct sequel to Happy Spank Patrick's Day, Kinko de Mayo, and Crafty Bastards.

Max, Cali, and Sean will make you smile especially Sean and his crazy ideas. I love these short but telling stories and being able to catch up on all the others, although I'm worried about Kel and Mal.

Another hit to feed my addiction. Only three stars due to not much character development and simplistic story but still feel like I had my fix.

4.0 out of 5 stars Overall, a much lighter book, and one that provides relief from some of the emotional angst of the other books in the series. 24 May 2017

This is almost a short story, a sequel to Crafty Bastards, where we visit Cali, Sean and Max again. Sean and Max took Cali in after her sorry ex dumped her and left her penniless and a fire left her homeless. The two men have their own history and both back stories are explained in this novella. This is important, because Karma makes a delightful appearance and is unappreciated if the reader doesn't know the background.

As we start off this book, Cali, Sean and Max have decided against ever having children and the two men are scheduled for vasectomies. But the trio seems to be struggling with the decision, especially in light of the disasters that have befallen some of their friends. All three go through stages of being moody as they contemplate the future, Can a kinky Easter party, complete with egg hunt, help them realize their good fortune.

This felt more like a stop gap to catch us up on the Suncoast Society rather than a complete book. It lacked the suspense and the edge of some of the other books in the series, but was still a pleasant read, with well drawn, likable characters, and some really hot sex, including mild BDSM.

We also get to reconnect with a lot of the characters from earlier books, both older and newer reads. The action of this one takes place concurrently with Pretzel Logic, the book about Brita and Ethan that was released at approximately the same time. There is also some great joy in watching Karma in action for both Cali's ex and the woman who burned Sean and Max.

Overall, a much lighter book, and one that provides relief from some of the emotional angst of the other books in the series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Book #50 in the Suncoast Society series. As always, Tymber Dalton has written another winner! EXPLICIT BDSM SEX! 19 May 2017
By Pam. Stanton - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
Tymber Dalton is my favorite author, an automatic buy with each new release. This Moody Bastard is the 50th book in the Suncoast Society BDSM series. (Congrats on hitting the big 5-0, Tymber!) While every Suncoast Society book is a standalone, you'll understand the characters' backstories if you read them in order. There's a listing of the entire series at the front of each book.

This Moody Bastard begins as another of Ms. Dalton's holiday-themed BDSM private party books. (Yippee!) But this time it's more than just about the party (the "Kinky (Vibrating) Eggstravaganza Party," for Easter, of course). The tale expands beyond the normal kinky party fun and frivolity and delves deeper into the lives of Cali, Max and Sean, last heard from in Happy Spank Patrick's Day. If you've read that book, you'll remember they're considering a momentous decision that, if they go through with it, will change their lives permanently. They believe they're not ready to have children, not now, not ever. Rather than keep Cali on birth control and deal the very real potential complications from that, Max and Sean are thinking about having vasectomies. But this will be permanent. There won't be any going back. They need to be certain this is what they truly want.

In the days leading up to the party, once again being hosted by Cali, Max, and Sean, the trio are as busy as proverbial "bunnies." Two Crafty Bastards, their online BDSM toy/equipment store, is ramping up for the holiday. Cali's about to tear out her hair with Sean's antics, insane ideas for the website header, promotions, and just about everything else to do with the holiday and the business! But despite his shenanigans, Sean's just not Sean. He's the carefree, playful, free spirit of the three. Lately he just hasn't been himself. Even when Cali surprises him with arrangements to act as a demo rope bunny with Leah at Venture, and the promise of some really great, silly, absolutely over-the-top costume shots for the website header (something Sean would normally be dancing for joy about), he's just...not. Something's obviously bothering him. Moodiness is just NOT Sean. Cali and Max are concerned but even Sean can't verbalize what's wrong.

The following Friday, just a little over two weeks from the party, Sean and Max are ready to move forward with their vasectomies. All three have done a lot of soul searching since their realization and have talked about all the possibilities. They all know that constant communication, completely open and honest conversations, and totally forthright opinions, no matter how hard the decision, are absolutely key to both successful polyamorous and BDSM relationships. Since theirs is both, communication is all the more important. Being truthful, open, and willing to lay their deepest feelings out in the open for each other, they make the decision to move forward. So, with Cali driving them, Max and Sean are off to make their vasectomies a reality. A few hours later, all three are back home, the procedures done, and the pressure seemingly off.

But in the ensuing weeks, as the men heal and the three prepare for the party, emotions run high and pop out at the most unexpected of times. Cali keeps asking the men if they're really okay with their decision. Both Max and Sean, separately and together, wonder if Cali really knows her own mind. Each one is convinced that he or she will never be parent material. It's their love, devotion, and care for each other that makes them question whether the decision was the right one for the other two.

Then the past returns to haunt all three. Cali's ex, Shane, returns to town. The man she devoted eight long years to, who ran off and left her homeless and penniless, returns with a new woman on his arm, wanting his membership at Venture reinstated. As if that wasn't bad enough, Sean's and Max's ex also makes a reappearance. The very last thing that Sean and Max want in their heads is the sight of Lydia, the woman who destroyed their lives years before. Can Cali, Max, and Sean put their past behind them for good and move forward? Will they regret the decisions they've made? The future seems so uncertain. They've worked so long and so hard to make not only their business a success but to build their lives and love into something so unique and precious. Surely one, two, or even three "moody bastards" can work this out, can't they?

Tymber Dalton has the heart and soul of a storyteller. As always, she's crafted a story filled with drama, love, laughter, tears, joy, heartbreak, a literal cornucopia of real and genuine emotions. The characters she creates are so real you have no problem knowing if you met them in any city, village, or town in the country, you would immediately be friends with them. That she has the ability to weave all these elements together as effortlessly as she does shows just how much she has mastered her craft. This Moody Bastard is yet another amazing entry into the Suncoast Society series. As I've said in every review I've ever written for Ms. Dalton's books, the fact that she has been an active participant in the BDSM lifestyle for many years only adds to the authenticity of the characters and details of the lifestyle in her novels. But her books aren't just about BDSM. They're about so much more...real people making real choices and decisions, living their daily lives with all the day-to-day problems, delights, ups, downs, and all other aspects that everyone deals with. She can draw any reader in from the very beginning. Her skill as an author is exceptional. The entire Suncoast Society series is amazing, and This Moody Bastard is yet another worthy addition to the series.

One final comment. This is an ADULT book. It contains adult BDSM themes, explicit language, and sexual scenes. If you don't enjoy erotic romance with explicit sexual/BDSM scenes then PLEASE carefully think before buying a book you know you won't enjoy. There are always book synopses and reviews available on Goodreads, several Facebook review pages, and every booksellers' website. PLEASE use these resources so you're certain the book you're buying is one you want. PLEASE DON'T LEAVE A NEGATIVE REVIEW WHEN YOU KNOW YOU WON'T ENJOY THE BOOK. IT'S NOT FAIR TO THE AUTHOR! She works extremely hard to provide quality work. If you know you'll object to the subject matter before you buy a book, you're doing both yourself and the author an extreme disservice. But if you do enjoy hot, erotic BDSM romances, I highly recommend This Moody Bastard. You won't be sorry! I give it my highest recommendation.

Thanks for reading my review and happy reading!

It's another holiday party for members of the Suncoast Society. While I laughed at part of this book, there was also times when I teared up. Cali, Sean and Max are the main characters this time around and I love how they interact with each other. Sean is so funny while Cali is trying to be serious about their business!! And of course, there is Baxter, their cat!! LOL All 3 of them are stuggling with decisions they all thought they had agreed on in the past. All were moody, hence the title, and are pondering and probing if this is what they really want for their lives. In the meantime, we also get a short visit from Mal and Kel. This is where I cried. We can tell that both are struggling with the tragedy that happened with them, especially Mal. I am hoping that Ms. Dalton will be writing their story in more depth soon. I want to know what happens with them.

Tymber Dalton has a way of writing a story so that the reader becomes totally invested in it. The characters become very real and you laugh, cry, grieve and get mad with them!!! I hope she never runs out of characters to write about!
